Question 6.2 detroit vs 6.5 detroit horse power

what is the horse power difference between a stock 6.2 and stock 6.5 detroit. The 6.2 with a sidewinder turbo is how much less horse power then a stock 6.5 detroit. what is the horse power of a modified 6.5. How much better is the 6.5 then the 6.2.My plan is to get a 6.2 detroit chevy military truck i just wanted to see how much different horse power between the two diesels.

Stock 6.2 military is about 140 hp with a turbo about 190 stock 6.5 is 215. the 6.5 turbo has same powee ratings as a early gen cummins 6bt. The 6.5 create more power stock and aftermarket parts and upgrades are more plentiful. 6.2s however you will find used blocks and engines alot easier and cheaper hence theyvw been on the road longer than the 6.5 .

Almost no difference between the 2 really.
A 6.2 and 6.5 are identical engines except for the cylinder bore/piston dimensions.

For a better comparison you would be better off putting the 6.5 diamond precup cylinder heads and turbo on a 6.2 shortblock-more economical than aftermarket.
Although the GM turbo is a rather poor performing unit above 2400rpm.

About all you have asked except for a banks turbo 6.2 rating:

There are now better turbo options also ATT,HX40,HX35 ect.

Excellent build is a 6.2 lower end with a 6.5 turbo upper end with a better turbo than GM offers, what is the build budget, and I suspect you will be mech IP, for best performance a mech IP from a turboed 6.5 like from turboed Hummer should yield more fuel to feed the turbo
