This is my first post. Just bought a real clean 98 super red Crew Dually 4WD
Just cleaned and detailed the interior and repaired the AC. I know I have an
exhaust leak on the crossover pipe. Looks like it was welded before so I ordered
a Heath crossover yesterday. How hard is it to do? I do have a torch so I think can get the
bolts off the studs. I checked the turbo wastegate and its working ok. Drove it from the lancaster PA area to the hudson valley area and it seems to drive and ride really well.
Way nicer than the fords I drove. It has 150 k on it. What kinds of things should be replaced
at this point? Im looking to do the marine injectors and a complete filter change.

Save your money with the marine injectors same thing as a regular injector just a fancy name they can charge more for and yeah you will probaly want a torch for the exhaust work and if the PMD is not been relocated do this soon preferably out of the engine compartment all together good luck with your neww truck

 

To relocate the pmd, is it necesary to remove the upper manifold? I think id need a new gasket also and what is a good brand of relocation kit?
Mine seems to work ok but the motor has been worked on before. The lower has new gaskets on it.

 

OK if it was me i would just leave the PMD on the injection pump it will fail its only a matter of time before it will fail you will need a heat sync and extension cable as well as a new PMD I just got a new PMD and cable from these guys herehttp://www.dcpcart.com/OScart/index.php?gclid=CKywtKbi7LECFUmR7QodoSoA6Q


they will stand behind thier stuff if you relocate it I just put mine behind where the front license plate goes I made a bracket out of angle iron and double grounded the unit took an hour tops

 

I relocated mine with a unit from heath diesel. I went that route, even though it was a higher priced unit than others, because of the seven year warranty. If it does happen its replaced. Also the instructions are pretty good if you are not as familliar around a 6.5. Many ways out there to relocate it but deffinatly get one out of the engine compartment.
