Hello bombers! I am a newbie to the site, and to diesel mods. I have an 04 and im looking to wake it up a little, figure id start with intake and exhaust. Looking at a 5 inchturbo back exhaust system from diamond eye and a volant cold air intake. Before i spent the money i was hoping maybe you more experienced types could could give me some dos,donts, and look out fors.

 

K&N intake is a dont haha
diamond eye r good u goin muffled or non

 

AFE is a nice intake. Don't know much about volant

 

Intake is just for the sound pretty much, untill u hit about 500whp IIRC. I have the 5" diamond eye exhaust with muffler, great tone and plenty loud.

 

to second the intake sound if u get a metal intake tube she will scream got mine about a week ago and my stock turbo whistles louder than plane lmao

 

Thats a great start to modifying the truck. Check with the vendors here, they'll be able to help you get what you want!

Intakes add a couple of HP and help the MPGs. There are not "just for sound".
