fuel pressure drop and A/C acting up.
alright, so two questions im having trouble figuring out, hoping y'all can help.
randomly the truck will start and all of a sudden shot off due to lack of fuel/pressure in the lines. you go outside and pump the button on top of the f/w separator to build up pressure and it will start back up and stay running. happens maybe once every 2 weeks. already replaced the FPR since it went out a couple weeks ago, also replaced the plastic drain **** on the bottom of the separator since it was cracked i thought i was loosing pressure through that. any thoughts why this is happening?
second question.
A/C doesn't blow as cold as it should, and the condenser is constantly dripping, all ready had to repaint the frame rail twice. so today i hooked up high and low side gauges to check the pressure to see if its low. i got some crazy readings, the low side is around 300-330, maxed out the gauge, and the high side was only at 150. i'm no A/C wiz, but i'm pretty sure the low side should be around 40-60 and high side around 300ish. there's plenty of oil in the system, it circulated fine, just wondering why my numbers are so off!

your ac problem....

you are getting over 300 on the low side?? thats the blue gauge you are reading on the service port closest to the fire wall right.
what are the static pressures on the system and how to the lines feel when the ac is on full blast, do the high side one feel hot and the low side ones feel cold? is there any icing?
and yes you are correct about your guestamate. high side is typically 3x ambient air temp
Yes, the blue gauge hooked to the low side. They only hook up one way. Static is 100psi on both sides, once you turn to full blast is when the low side jumps to 300… the lines are cold, I will check for iceing.

the static pressures sound normal.
if you are getting over 300psi on the low side the lines should be really effin hot to touch, ~160 degrees and up. did you touch and feel all the lines with the ac on full blast?
i gotta see a picture of these gauges

So I just finished the filter cap rebuild. It seems I'm still loosing pressure around the cap. I'm going to take it all back apart tomarow and make sure I didn't pinch any o -rings. Anything else I should check??

does it hold prime after pumping it?
Yes. Once I pump it it seems to hold. But as soon as I shut the truck off it slowely leaks A little air. Makes re-starting a little tough unless its been pumped.
