I have an 82 k10 blazer with 6.2l diesel c code the day before yesterday the water in fuel light came on so i tried to drain the water out. I couldn't find any valves on the frame to let water out of the tank so I stop by the auto part store and was told to let it out from the filter so i opened the bottom valve letting it empty what seem as water from it then i changed the fuel filter filled it half with sea foam to clean it out since I had the filter off anyway and the other half with fresh diesel but the line were empty because i didn't close the valve all the way and it ran out of fuel that was before i changed the filter. once all said in done with that mission i tired to start it over but it would only crank not fire over so i kept trying in 10 second on and 10 minutes off to not burn up my starter but no luck so i let it sit overnight with the block heater plugged in and tired the next morning but he glow plugs relay would no come on so i took it off and got a new one from the store because i have warranty on it and figured it was out as this happened before. I got home from work this afternoon and installed the new relay that came in and still no glow plug light and no clicking of the relay. still cranks but won't fire. kinda lost at this point but I'm fairly new to diesel.
I'd be very thankful for any advise.

 

got it running again after figuring out how to bleed the fuel system and a little starter fluid to help her out.

 

Starting fluid and 6.2s and 6.5s = disaster

 

i gave it a little shot before the filter in the intake and that was just enough to help kick it over because it was no wanting to start after changing the fuel filter and bleeding the lines. it was my last ditch effort to get it to start because i put a new size of glowplugs in it before i tried that

 

this will give you a idea what either will do to a 6.5/6.2
