If yer gettin lower fuel mileages with Bio and it's higher in price then ULSD I don't see the advantage here. In my case it was considerably lower mileage. Bio stays a little cheaper then ULSD here in the corn belt cause they promote it more, no state taxes on it here in Illinois. Still cost a pretty good amount of extra money to run it thougheven with that because of the lower MPG.

And the loss of power. :madd:

I've talked to a few who use B20 and notice a loss in fuel mileage and some power but not so much when using B-2. BTW, 2% Bio is all you need to use if you just want to add lube for your fuel system.

Hey Whit,

How's the B20 treating you?

We don't worry about cold here too often. This year everything has been quite warm. It was 83 yesterday and supposed to get up to 85 today. (I think the summer is going to be a hot one.)

At the plant here in town, today's price for B100 is $2.95. B20 or petro-diesel is about $3.39. (as of Feb 23, 2008) But it isn't always convenient to drive to get biodiesel.

They don't mind splashing my tank with just a few gallons. (Ft Sam and Lackland buy 4000 gallons a week to make B20 for the public works vehicles on base.)

I try to remember what my ratios are so that as I top off the tank, I know what my biodiesel percentage is.

I notice that everyone seems to agree there is a loss in fuel mileage with bio. When I was at home I ran B-20 and it increased the fuel mileage by 1-2 MPG consistently.

I wonder why? maybe the B-20 was just a better blend than the Conoco, Cenex and Exxon ULSD I was getting prior to the B-20 ???
