Lubrication Engineering diesel oil
Anyone here running this oil? We use this at the Fire Dept on our Detroits and Mercedes diesels increasing our oil change intervals to once a year. We have a 2001 cummins 2500 there that has had the same oil in it for 3 1/2 years. Analisis still showed it was good. The LE rep said that the oil will go 100,000 miles with just filter changes. Heres some specs on it.

Never heard of it.

According to the rep., this oil was invented-created by a German engineer during WW2. It was originally in a powder form and used on tank tracks. He defected to the US and created LE. The rep also told me that this oil will go 100,000 miles, but since I have access to it, Ive been going 15000. My buddy has been running it for 20 plus years at the Fire Dept with great success on both gas and diesel vehicles. Gabby at GAW diesel used to call this oil top secret. I now run the new Baldwin 7317 dual pass oil filter with this oil. Im gonna get an analysis done in another 7500 miles.

Realy! never heard of it either! do you have a link? will it work for a PowerStroke? does it look black after awhile? Send a copy of the analysis please? This had better not be B.S. I hate being the gullible one of a joke!

I know alot of the big time farmers and ranchers up here use this stuff because of the high quality and affordability of it
|
High quality and affordability are normally mutually exclusive terms.
|
I think affordability is kinda a relative point, lets lets say you pay $3.00 a quart for brand A of oil and it requires you to change it every 3,000 miles, no other factors considered you have to change it ever 3,000 miles, and lets say brand B costs $4.50 a quart and requires you to change it every 6,000 miles, sure the initial cost is higher but you get twice the life out of it, not saying that's the case with LE oil that's just what the farmers tell me, I know it's expensive stuff it just is also high quality and the initial cost is offset due to the durability of the oil
|
I talked to rep Friday. For a case (3 - 2 gallon containers) for a total of 6 gallons = 2 oil changes. Price quoted was 162 with free shipping. Comes to 6.75 a quart. Not too bad.
|
Don't know anything about it myself, but that isn't the only oil that can go a long time on just filter changes. (I'm not saying amsoil is the only one either)
A good oil will last quite a long time if it stays clean. Price is pretty comparable to a synthetic. Bobcat...you must have some more "open minded" farmers and ranchers. People around here won't look at anything that isn't 1.99/qt or less :dang: |
