I keep thinkin about puttin an auxiliary pump on the front end to run the front loader but right now there's not one there. So far haven't been smart enough or rich enough to work out the details.

I do know the seals in the hydraulics are wore out. Funny cause the rear 3 point is weak as hell and it's the primary system. The end loader will still hold plenty of weight in the air even with the tractor off but it's on the axillary hydraulics. Don't make no sense to me, I'd think it would be the other way around. This little tractor moves 1800 pound round bales around on that front end though.

i used my ol 50 ferg this eve plowing and thought about your trouble. i was a while fig out how diesel was getting in my oil but that darn preheat thing.

Thanks all. Been to damn muddy to get out there and look at this yet but as soon as i can I'll check out this pre-heater fuel line and give that a shot. Sure do hope it's somethin this simple.

I've got an old massey 40 and the diaphram went bad in the pick up pump and would put fuel in the base ,this is the second time now so it is going to go electric pick up this time:madd:

Hey Steve, you bet I can. I'll snap it tonight when I'm out there to feed. I got the hood and side panels all pulled off of it right now so everything is easy to get to and see.

I'm not familiar with that pump, if you are sure it is fuel..probably the transfer pump. On some rotary inj pumps the front seal goes out and it will fill the crank case with fuel aswell.

Not sure if it's fuel or hydraulic fluid myself and don't know how I could tell the difference without an oil analysis. They smell and look close enough alike that it would be hard to say.

If you pit a drop of engine oil on a napkin , if it has fuel in it it will wick out ward pretty quick.

The powersteering pump that sits below the inj pump has a pretty small res on it..it should be pretty obvious if the level is droppin. I bet it is fuel unless there is a hyd pump bolted to the engine on the right hand side. Keep in mind that i am a Deere Tech and don't work on other brand stuff so maybe i am missing some thing here??
