Review Of The JD 2305 With Pics
Before I get started, this is not to start tractor wars, it is for info purposes only and this is only my opinion of the tractor I was using.
The motor on my garden tractor took a serious dump and grass was getting tall and I have around 11 acres to cut. I started looking around for something to rent and this is what I found. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01270.jpg It has a 23hp Yanmar with a 54in deck, and it was 4X4. When I picked it up, it only had 5 hours on it. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01271.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01273.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01272.jpg I am very thankfull for the 4X4. We had had a lot of rain and some of the spots I had to cut still had water standing and was like a swamp. The little JD went through tough grass and weeds like you wouldn't believe even with the standing water. It came equiped with anything that you would possibly need to set the tractor up the way you wanted. It already had the connections for a front end loader. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01276.jpg It had a weight bar and all the weights that you would need if you were using it with rear attachments. There were five weights and each one was 50lbs. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01275.jpg On the deck there was a hook up for a water hose to rinse the underside after use. My personal opinion is that it didn't really work very well. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01267.jpg It even had an option to run both the under carriage PTO and the rear PTO at the same time. Not sure what you would use them both for at the same time, but the option is there. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01269.jpg The hydrostatic trans was very nice. You could easily fly over the not so tough stuff and go slower over the nasty stuff without stopping. That is a big thumbs up in my book. In two days, I logged a full 20 hours on this tractor and loved it. It did a great job and as equipped can be bought for around 12k., or add a front loader and the price goes up to around 14k. Like I said these are just my opinions and what I experienced. Hopefully it will help someone that maybe looking to buy a tractor like this. |
Nice tractor there:U: Yeah that hydrostatic trans is nice.

the engine must be pretty powerful if it needs weights on the front of it. let me know how that cleaner for the underside of the mower is. i have a Zero Radius Turn Bobcat that get so much crap on the bottom when it is wet so its a pain to clean it all up.

that's cool buddy can i borrow it?
have you gotten the other one back yet with the new motor? |
I only rented it, but the deck cleaner sucked. I didn't see where it was a benefit at all on this tractor. The water barely even ran out of it.

my granparents have always had JD lawnmowers. i love them.

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/DSC01269.jpg good review mike..... would have been better if you took the weights off the front and showed us some wheelies on it......:c: |

I do that with my Craftsman garden trator. When I bought it, it had a 22hp motor but it now has a 26hp. You are right it is a major pain in the well you know, but I do it. |

i can see this being beneficial using an offset mower out the back to cut a larger path.... or for using a vacuum or motorized rake..... good review mike..... would have been better if you took the weights off the front and showed us some wheelies on it......:c: |
Take it to the tractor pulls and run it on the small sled...:rocking::rocking::rocking:
