Help with Woods Diesel Commercial Mower
Hi all
Well I have a woods diesel 5215 three Cylinder. Last summer I had a problem and it turned out to need a new starter. New starter is on - she cranks but seems to not be cranking fast enough to fire it. - I fully charged the battery - I bled the lines - even plugged in the block heater. But still when it cranks, she won't fire Little puffs of smoke come out like she wants to, but she won't light. Unfortunately its a hydrostatic so I can't to it to fire... I'm preheating for a good long time as well Any ideas? Thanks! Pete |
It sounds like your pre-heating system is not working. Getcha a test light and see if your getting power to it. If you are, then the heater is probably bad.

Give it a little shot of starting fluid or WD-40 yet?
Sometime they can be a pain but once you get them running they are fine. |
Forgot about the WD-40 trick. :argh: Something that works better then WD, getcha a old towel/rag and put some gas on it, hold it over the intake and start it. Make sure you have a good grip on the rag so is doesn't get sucked in.
