what kind of hp am i looking at??

i have a e99 with stock turbo and stock injectors as far as i know, i have a stage 1 intake and a power hungry performance chip that adds up to 120 rwhp no cat or muff, new trans and i was wondering about how much hp im pushing now and whats the most i could push with stock turbo, ive heard u guys say 300 max with stock turbo and injectors but say 210 stock plus 120 chip is 330, so whats the deal??

95powersmoker 05-12-2011 09:18 PM

My guess is you might be right around 300 rwhp... Early 99 has smaller injectors than the later year superduties.

CSIPSD 05-12-2011 09:30 PM

Agreed... About 300 or so... Might make 310, but it depends on the dyno...

You can't add the HP on the valve covers to the HP setting on the chip and the intake and such...

Stock Superduty 7.3 puts out about 220hp to the rear wheels, most HP a chip will add with stock injectors is 80-100hp...

Diezel Dawg 05-12-2011 10:54 PM

My guess is 275ish

Riffraff Performance 05-12-2011 11:20 PM

I agree about 290hp - 300hp. Last time I saw a set up just like that dyno it was 292hp 602tq.

Lange503 05-13-2011 12:39 PM

depends on elevation too, i did 202 stock and 260 on a 120 tune from PHP

crzycummins 05-13-2011 01:09 PM

also depends on engine condition...injectors blah blah blah. but id say your at 3 maybe 310:humm:

99stackedpowerstroke 05-13-2011 05:11 PM

well thats stupid!!! so the number on the chip means nothing, but my turbo will only hold up to 300 right???

Farmboy 2.0 05-13-2011 05:27 PM

Its not really stupid if you think about how much power your drivetrain uses up to put the power to the ground. And the rating from ford or any manufacturer is rated at the crank not the tires

95powersmoker 05-13-2011 05:34 PM

:nice:

OP, What's the E99 rated for at the crank? 235?

235 + 120 = 355 x .15 = 302 That's assuming a 15% drivetrain loss...

99stackedpowerstroke 05-14-2011 05:11 PM

ya that is true, i did not think about that,:nice: i will have to find a dyno somewhere some time and find out for sure

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

ive been doing some reading and some say that chips wont work on their single shot injectors??? how common is this???

When you swap to single shot injectors, you just need to send your chip back to get reburned for them...

99stackedpowerstroke 05-14-2011 07:26 PM

so its very common, okay just didnt know if that was just certain injectors or all of them,

95powersmoker 05-14-2011 07:44 PM

The chip will work, it's the tunes that won't because you are tuned for split shot injectors...

99stackedpowerstroke 05-14-2011 07:48 PM

okay, im also looking at water/meth injection and was wondering if i shouldnt expect a power diff with stock injectors and just expect lower egts or what i should be expecting

I dynoed 351hp in Colorado with 30% meth, and a 38r... Should pick up about 30hp... But I use it more for the cooling effect then the power gain.

Straight water is best!

99stackedpowerstroke 05-15-2011 07:51 AM

so straight water is the best thing ta run, okay, im doing to lower my egts because i tow quit a bit with it, but the power gain is just a plus haha just didnt know what to expect with stock injectors. but even with stock injectors and turbo i would be expecting 30 more??

farmingsthelife 05-15-2011 10:06 AM

does the early 99 use split shots?

99stackedpowerstroke 05-15-2011 10:10 AM

yes they do,

Yes, They are roughly 120cc AB split shot injectors.

The late 99+ use 140cc AD split shot injectors.

thanks 95powersmoker, you have helped me out a ton
