4" Exhaust and 6spd?

I know the 6spd is larger and there might be some fitment issues with certain 4" turbo backs. I imagine certain exhaust might fit better than others and would like to know what people have and if they had issues?

Has anyone installed a MRBP on a 4x4 E99 6spd?

im sure hundreds of people have done it, never heard of anyone having problems installing a kit.

A couple of venders have told me they turbo back will not fit the 6spd. MRBP just said their turbo back will work on the E99 with a 6spd, but it is an odd ball and they know there are some fitment issues I'd have to work around, but they wouldn't elaborate on what.

I'm curious if it's just tight clearances and some rattling or are people having to clearance (BFH) certain items?

I did mine yesterday. removal of old exhaust should come right off.

Now the INSTALLING THE DOWN PIPE WAS KINDA HARD ON MY 01 6SPD 4X4. MBRP states it should slide right in....mine did not. so 1 hour of trying to fit it and no luck.

i had to remove the oil cooler lines and remove the trans/tcase cross member. then it barely slid in.

It would have be super helpful if MBRP would have included this step in the install. or at least have as option.

sounds great once you get it on.

Thanks for the info, if I run into a snag trying to slide that downpipe in I'll take the same route you did. Plan to tackle this during the weekend.

I have never heard of a install issue... MBRP, Diamond eye, any of them...

So I just completed installing a 4" MBRP turbo back and it went rather smooth although MBRP said I may have issues with an early 99 and 6spd.

It took about 10 minutes to figure out how to get the downpipe up in, but if you turn it so the bottom end is facing towards the center of the truck and cram it up there it will go. No need to remove the oil lines from the trans to the cooler or the trans mount. Clearance was fine for what you would expect for a big exhaust.

Very happy with the fit, finish, and noise.

glad to hear the your went in smooth!

guess I just had a fluke...I have installed 5-6 exact same kits and all have installed in about 45min and this last one just was not gonna go without a fight.

anyways hope you like your kit.

I saw the oil lines you mentioned. I forced it up past those lines making sure not to stress them a lot, but other than that it was rather smooth. I had to mess with the lengths a little to fit my supercab short bed and have it clear the rear shock.

I love the noise now, sounds nice.
