heh, well, most OEM ratings are at the crank, anyway. but I know what ya mean. thanks, I'll get on er.

I don't really want more than 300-350 just right now anyway. that'd be plenty quicker than most things this size on the road around here.

dont forget it might need some tranny mods to hold the extra power

I'm banking on a single mass flywheel and a mildly-over-oem clutch while I'm at it.

that said, the truck no longer starts on it's own (even with a working starter and gloplugs), sooo, this has all been postponed.

if it ends up being injectors...well....good excuse to go to stage 1s, I guess?

Stage 1s and a south bend con-ofe clutch.

Can you scan it to see what's going on?

see my topic "so much for the CAI" in the 94-99 powerstroke general section.

it starts/runs fine (enough) now (and the block heater works now too, which is good, because it's -30C tonight).

but that clutch may be happening sooner rather than later. because it's slipping past 1700 and doesn't like taking off (feels like the truck is hopping as the clutch struggles to engage).
tryin to track down the cause of that next I think, since it showed up noticeably within 1 day of shifting fine.

that said, that goddamned massive napa filter did get thrown on, and with the stock piping (well, a chunk of tight fitting 4"OD exhaust pipe between the two with clamps on the two ends, but that's not bad at all).
also took off the top of the OEM airbox and then cut a bigassed chunk outta the bottom too. :D no noticeable gain from that, but, well, I can't rev the thing above 1700 or it practically free revs right now, so, not gonna see it either
the really damn funny bit, is that when my mechanic saw the flywheel and clutch on my "wishlist" he says to me "why is that on there, your clutch and flywheel are FINE...don't spend money you don't have to you IDIOT", and now, well, here I am. hehe

Might not notice too much response diffrence with the big air filter, but it will improve fuel milage 1 to 4 MPG, i get about 3MPG better out of mine with the big napa filter.:tu:

Slim Whitey 02-19-2013 08:02 AM

well if I could quit pissin fuel I'm sure I'd be seein some improvment!
:argh:
