What is my next logical step?
Well, just like the title says, I'm running out of ideas on the cheap(ish) mods. The truck is a 1995 f-250 4x4. main use is daily driving, hauling a toyota trail rig around, next season i plan to hook up to a sled atleast once just to see what i can do. I don't really have a HP goal and have no interest in going crazy with the thing, just would like to feel a little more get up and go when I get to a hill with 10,000lbs hanging off the goose neck. Budget is an issue so go easy on my wallet with your suggestions.:tu:
My current mod list is as follows: -Tymar intake -3" down pipe -4" straight pipe mbrp exhaust -160cc sticks -swamps modded idm -ts 6 pos. chip (installed before idm mod, should this be re tuned or wait for more mods?) -south bend 950hp dual disk (yes i know it's a ridiculous amount of clutch for the actual power, was installed by p/o) Mods i have the supplies for but haven't gotten to do yet: -fpr shim (debating on just switching to e-fuel) -ccv mod (going to run into the exhaust right past the t-case) -up pipe gaskets (they're blown) I'm interested to see what you guys have to say! Thank you! :pca1: |
I personally wouldn't do anything more... You have a great daily driver set up right there... Just maintain it and run it...
If you really feel like throwing more money at it... turbo next... |
Run some good synthetic fluids in the engine, trans, diffs, and drive & enjoy bro. Since its your daily driver, keep it well maintained, keep it reliable, and it shouldnt fail you. :tu:

Perhaps a quick spool housing? But I've heard that the larger injectors combined with the smaller housing will get too hot.. My other turbo choice would be a d66. also gauges would be a nice investment..
But yes redd i agree, the ole lady is due for a complete fluid change |

But yes redd i agree, the ole lady is due for a complete fluid change Another suggestion would be adding an intercooler... Again another suggestion might be HPOP...Adrenaline or srp1 |
I definetely agree with 95powersmoker about the intercooler and hpop. intercooler makes a world of difference when hooked to a trailer. if your budget is a little thin then i would suggest getting an hpop off a SD 7.3l, its not as awesome as the adrenaline or terminator, but is still a 17 degree hpop and is a well worth it upgrade from our 15 degree. as far as larger injectors and a quick spool housing making excessive heat i haven't heard much about that but as you add fuel and boost you add heat, which is why i love the intercooler. if you are worried about the smaller housing then you can always use a SD housing with the compressor wheel you have now

if you havent got custom tunes for the TS to go with the 160cc injectors definatly get them, better mileage, less smoke, less EGTs and way more power.

hpop
