Here is a way to make your head smoke :se: for that dumbarse question you asked. Smoke is for jackheads. Build it for power! :dang::argh:

:clap:Yeah I'd rather be noticed from pulling away from the car tailgating me on the freeway and disappearing than be noticed for all the smoke I put out. It's childish. Hell any car or truck can put smoke out if you want it to. :dd:

diesel pap 03-02-2012 07:37 AM

the vgt turbo on the 6.7 is the key of not smoking. :hellox:

Eddiebuntain 03-02-2012 07:55 AM

A buddy's gas burner, off-road pickup always used to smoke under acceleration, tried to get him to install stacks so people'd think it was a diesel. I think you might be in the wrong forum for building a smoker.

tiremann9669 03-02-2012 08:06 AM

Gassers with stacks:td::td::td: Smokers are for jokers :s:

pop417 03-02-2012 08:33 AM

the best answer i seen on here for making smoke was to take all your used oil put it in a 55 gal drum put it in bed of truck and light it on fire.Smoke wast fuel and that not cheap any more.:s:

CRAZYHUNTER 03-03-2012 09:28 AM

well i do believe its my money and my truck so ill make it smoke if i want to:moon:

coors_man_2005 03-03-2012 10:59 AM

did you see the smoke switch thread that just got bumped on the aftermarket part for the 6.7 just sayin:hellox:

these threads make me wana :puke:

there are SO MANY idiots in my town that dump smoke, but for some reason they wont race my EFFICIENT truck... hmm:humm:

Seydler3 03-03-2012 07:08 PM

Set the pilot injection tables to zero. It will sound better :) more like a 5.9. And black smoke = wasted fuel = high EGT's

jmac5058 03-03-2012 07:22 PM

Man have you seen all the hell raised on here because of questions like that on here. Sorry man but like said above we Build for Power not smoke... You can always go to walmart buy a pair of granny panties and go out to you truck open the hood and the bag that the cashier put the grany panties in put that over your airbox and put the granny panties on your head because thats how stupid your gonna look in your truck. Here the reason behind why we hate people who want the Diesels to SMOKE. EPA and CARB ring a bell for you, thats why you EGR and DPF is on Diesels now. Soon it will be illegal to buy delete kits. Sorry man no hard fillings but you not gonna beat it out of us. Plus your Variable Vane Turbo will make that difficult to make your truck smoke since it adjusts to load and power demand unlike Fixed Vaned Turbos with waste gates.

Thought this was too funny to not respond. In a pinch, a pair of pantyhose works great as an outerwear. Where do you think they got the idea for it? It was a big thing back in the late 80's racing quads (long before my time) but if I ever had to ride and didn't have a dry outerwear, guess what went on. Worked awesome.

That is all.:pca1:

RanchhandTCR 03-28-2012 06:06 PM

I need to add one more thing if you wanted you truck to smoke why the hell you buy a damn smarty!!!! All performance chips have to meet or exceed emissions also if you still have your DPF Filter your not gonna see a whole lot of smoke because guess what the DPF does it catches all or most of the soot from diesels. If you live in the city where you have to do emmissions you cant just go cut em off or you wont pass because of that.

Yeah. That's the only thing I'm worried about right now. Emissions on diesels starts next year for New Mexico (friend owns emission shop:tu:). He said I'll pass either way. All they're going to do is plug in and check for codes, and maybe a couple revs for a smog check. But mine never smokes on the Smarty 40hp tune. And if it did, I'd be complaining. But all is still hearsay, so I'm holding on to the exhaust for the time being.

Jazz 03-28-2012 06:55 PM

Alright guys let's keep it civil and clean. I don't like to have to come in and clean things up. The question is always asked but no need to go off on the guy! Thanks :c:

Completely disagree....If you are such a dipstick that you come on these forums to ask how to make your truck smoke...you are fair game...

Just like belonging to a snowmobile site and asking for directions to a heli-ski area so there is untracked snow...

Instead of deleting posts that may explain to these dill-weeds what we actually try and accomplish by building an engine that produces higher HP with limited or no smoke, why dont you look at deleting the posts asking these retarded questions???

Give me a solid reason to NOT attack these pukes...all they do is garner bad publicity for our hobby and the diesel industry as a whole. If you see a benefit to 'rolling coal' outside of a truck pull or drag strip then inform us...maybe we are missing something...

Well, my guess is they come on here to learn number 1. If they really knew about diesels they wouldn't have to ask how to make it smoke now would they! I'm sure there are diesel owners who knew everything about diesels when they bought their first one but I'm guessing there are even more who didn't. So instead of everyone jumping on them why don't we just give some true answers and tell them why smoke isn't really the thing you want to do with your list of reasons. I think this could be done without all the name calling. Then again I guess that's what people behind a keyboard internet like to do to each other:s:

Mdub707 03-29-2012 07:50 AM

Yes, the smoking question gets asked a lot. Honestly, if you're not on the forums much, how would you know the "stance" that the community has taken against black smoke? It's not like this has been going on for years and years, maybe the past two years this has been a "movement." Some tuners used to write smoke tunes for crying out loud. Just explain to the guy that smoke has become "uncool" in the community because of the black eye it gives us. But explain it in a way that he will actually listen. You jump down his throat and he's not going to listen. :c:

Guys...

Your both missing the point, and arent reading the ENTIRE thread (or multiple threads in this case). Most of these guys that ask the stupid questions regarding, smoke, rollin coal, smoke switches etc ARE given a quick polite explanation of how 'most' feel it is wrong, how it does not display the attitudes of most diesel owners, and actually indicates as issue of some sort, ie not enough air, too much fuel, dirty air cleaner, etc....

Its AFTER these initial comments that many of these dipsticks, blather on, and carry on, and say 'Oh ya I get that but...' and they STILL want to make smoke, and ask over and over how to do it....THATS when they do and should get attacked...So take some time, go back and read the entire thread and THEN make your comments...

And Jazz...I dont just do it from behind a keyboard...you know that...

Diesel Dawgs Performance 03-29-2012 09:54 PM

EFI Live or Smarty and Big Injectors will roll the coal.

Your right, I apologize. I went back and read the first page starting with the second post. Quick polite explanations :s:

And this one thread has nothing to do with all the other multiple threads that have asked the same question. Someone else started those. Not this guy.

Horse Power 03-30-2012 10:11 AM

If you want smoke stick a plastic bag over the air filter.

You make a good point, and you are right, I guess we shouldnt paint all the dopes with the same brush, I think it just gets real old if you are actually here trying to get ideas about new technology, new ideas and such, and the bulk of the new posts refer to 'smokin'. Maybe those of us that dont agree with this should try and bypass those threads, but man its hard LOL.

Maybe there should be a 'special' section related to how to make your diesel less efficient then we could at least keep all the dopey posts confined to one area....yes I am just jokin...sorta.

Thanks Jazz, I will try and refrain from speaking my mind in the future, there seems to be lots of other guys that will take up the position for me haha. And thanks for the replys, its nice to see some staffers getting involved!

cummins_guy 03-30-2012 11:42 AM

when a truck smokes, it makes all the green thumb people start talking and then government founded programs (that we pay for ) put restrictions on car companys.

just for facts.

look under a 93 dodge, them go look under one from 2012.

if the younger crowed would like to smoke there little hearts out, then by all means do so, but I do ask one thing, GO VOTE, so that we dont have to keep paying for someone to tell me that we are going into global warming, err I mean climate change.

POOR POLAR BEARS.
