I just plan on doing the deletes and leaving power set on stock. I just dont want to throw warranty away if the truck is going to have issues

I fixed it with a sim that I got instructions for from this site and it has been running perfect ever since. I get great mileage and tons of power with pretty little invested. I have a 2011 I got last year and I am getting ready to do some stuff here real soon. I love the engine it's a cummins so it the best in my opinion. I am not 100% on this but the 6.7 is basically a 5.9 just more c.i. and some tweaks here and there for the increase in fuel for c.i. I had concerns with it in 07 when new and I had to go thru the learning phase with recalls etc. but, I love it!! and am glad I got the first one. So do what you want and enjoy it!!! Just my .02

I'm curious for some more info on this SIM deal... my dad has deletes and a smarty and throws the CEL... any details or links would be appreciated..

And for the OP my dad basically hauls hot shot livestock... He hauls cattle for a living with his truck... Its an 07.5 and he has 29x,xxx on it... he has a flatbed the filler neck design on it caused him to get water in the fuel around 60,000 and burnt up his IP and injectors... forget the warranty... put a FASS with 2 micron filters on it the day you get it.... dodge wouldn't warranty his.... he has a SMARTY with deletes and pulls 30,000 lbs+ daily... just rebuilt the rear end too.... and he still loves it...

I am trying to put some miles onit stock to keep the warranty until it proves reliable but the pricekf fuel in southwest PA here is almost 4.30 a gallon it gets up much more i am going to say forgef the warranty and hope the savings help pay for anything that might pop up

My first diesel was an 07.5 67 auto trans. I really loved the truck, it had loads of power and it was bone stock. Unfortunately it glitched out still under warranty and that was that. I liked the truck so much I replaced it with a 2011. Great truck, crappy fuel economy. I'm doing the deletes soon but the trans is the weak link in my opinion. I can get my converter to shudder if I jump on it hard. I,ve been told a number of times I drive like an ole lady so it should be ok for me. The engines are as good as anything out there.

I've had two 8.7's a 07.5 and a 2011 (curent truck). I hated to see the 07.5 go but there was nothing I could do about that, it was a great truck. The 2011 is bigger wheel base and and doesn't turn in tight spaces as well but still a great truck. Good power from both and no real problems with either for the most part. The 07.5 left me at just under 36,000 miles and had the heater box issue and some check engine light problems but I really loved that truck. The 2011 is nicer truck for a couple of reasons and not as good in other ways. I haven't had any trouble with it at all but it's only got 13,000 on it. Trans seams to be the biggest worry for most people but if your not beating on it they hold up pretty well. I am really easy on my trucks, just use them to tow a fifth wheel and I don't tend to put a lot of miles on them except when I go on vacation. Both of mine run the six speed auto trans. Seams to work well but I'm thinking about upgrading the tourqe converter for pulling the hills. I've never had a head gasket issue but they are known for it. There are better gaskets and head studs to make them better but again it depends on how you drive, how much HP you are pushing, and what you are doing with the truck.
