Guages

I have a fairly stock 2007 2500... its got deletes and smarty and may have larger stuff coming soon. I wanted to get some gauges before I did anything else. I'm not sure which gauges to get or how many to get to plan for the future. I mean EGT and rail pressure I suppose are a must, boost pressure would be nice, what else would anyone suggest? What are the installation housing options inside the truck? What are some good brands, I'm really trying to get a better idea here.

Does it have an auto? If it does get a trans temp, boost, pyro. IMO you only need a rail pressure gauge if you are highly modded. For that year of truck i really like the Autometer Phantom 2's. They have the option of green back light and are whitefaced to almost match the factory gauges

if its an auto i suggest a four guage pod with boost, pyro, tranny temp, and fuel pressure( lift pump supply pressure) as long as you have more than 8 or 9 lbs under a hard load, your rail pressure will be where it needs to be.

gotta love the Maxxes they have all the gages built in except fuel pressures.

how does the isspro tranny temp hook up do you have to drill a hole in the pan for the sensor?

cumminscontrol 12-02-2010 03:51 PM

i wouldnt put it in the pan, u run the risk of ripping it out :scare2:...put it up on the side so it dont hang down low...just my .02 worth

probably the most accurate reading will be in the pan but there is probably a unused port in there somewhere
