EGR delete

Ok, so i just installed my DPF-R delete but i didn't get the EGR delete plates yet. if i unplug the EGR does the butterfly fail open or is there a way to keep it shut till the plates come in? and has anybody upgraded their intercooler? I've read Banks' isn't that great. Also, is the head on the 6.7 is the same as the 04.5-07 head? i guess what im asking is my buddy is getting rid of his 05 and i was gonna buy his ARP studs off of him.

thanks

totally different designed head. 6.7 is Siamese cylinders. just unplug the egr til you get your block off plates. no comment on banks.

The studs will work fine. Thats what i am running. If you have a 08 with the latest flash then just unplug the EGR, if you have an older flash then you may have to remove the butterfly valve.

I blocked my EGR, and unplug the connector. I get P0406 code.
Any comment on this?

Also, I have noticed that the sound of turbo has changed, and the winding sound is more pronounced.
It is fully drivable and I am getting about 1 MPG better.

Also, I changed my oil and cleaned the engine before filling it with new oil. The oil is still looks clean now. I do like it much better now.

yea, that's the egr sensor A circuit high code. im not exactly sure what it means but i think the sensor, if unplugged fails high. that should be the one back left i think. whether "high" means open or closed or what, thats what the computer sees, but it wont hurt it, its a soft code so no limp mode.:5:

as for the turbo, it loves you now. much lower intake temps, and its not being used by the egr, or working with it to add hot gas back into your intake.

Thats the typical EGR delete code as said above, no worries.

Thanks for the information.
I do like this now, this morning I reset the overhead MPG computer and drove 47 miles to work and drove it about 5 MPH over speed limits. I can not believe it, the overhead computer shows 19.9 MPG. It is too hard to believe this. I was getting 14.2 MPG before. So, after I fill her up, I have to drive for few days and do a hand calculation and see if this is really true.

You over head may not be accurate but those numbers are not out of the ordinary either.

how do you know if you have a 08 with the latest flash???? and are you just unpluging the EGR and leaving it and the pipe on with no block off plates??
