I hear that the 08 intake butterfly valve will default to the open position, so you should be able to just unplug it and leave it at that. :U:

:5:First of all I am not trying to start a peeing contest. Just trying to learn something. I have heard of this happening to the Cummins and Powerstroke before on other forums. I ask on some of the threads I started on the EGR and the Turbo getting clogged. The Duramax doesent seem to have these problems that I can find on other forums. Does this happen to the Duramax also? Federal law dictates a dealer fix all emission related problems for a specified time period. I ask my dealer about these things and he said the Duramax doesent need these things done until well over 100,000 miles if then. Doesent make sense to me to build a engine, especially a diesel that need this kind of maintenance. I read somewhere on a forum where they drilled a hole in the turbo so they could spray some kind of cleaner in the hole to clean it. Just wondering?:5:

EGR WHAT?

:choochoo:Mine started that crap, I stop in Advanced auto and have them scan it and delete check engine light. its always same EGR code, lasts anywhere from 100 to 10,000 miles before light comes on again, I hav,nt cleaned EGR valve, Dealer charged me $80.00 to scan it to tell me it was $440.00 to replace it at 21,000 miles, havnt been back since. I got 75,000 miles on it, original tires, Runs like a top, steady pullin a 35' wedge gettin 13.6 mpg avg towing an average 14,000 lbs. I am in Fl however and it pretty flat. BADP DPF DELETE on the way now that its broke in a little.

jus for a lil 411. in the maintance manual it does have maintance on the egr..... the egr was covered under warrenty but as of november dodge stopped the coverage and will up hold it as a regular maintance like an oil change...:argh:

Another good reason to block the EGR. :ouch:

THAT PART IS COVERED UNDER THE CUMMINS EMISSION WARRANTY. YOU SHOULD FIND A NEW DEALERSHIP.
