6.7 Turbo Suggestions
I bought an 07 6.7L last week with only 20K miles on it. I noticed that it's randomly throwing 2263 and associated codes which (from what I understand) relate to the turbo needing cleaning. The truck still has quite a bit of warranty left and I would hate to do anything to jeopardize it, but I don't want the run-around from a dealership that would potentially cause even more problems down the road.
Is there any programmers out there that I can safely eliminate these issues without voiding my warranty? I started driving with the exhaust brake and that seems to have helped some. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dustin |
Warranty issues are usually up to the dealership and they all seem to look at mods differently. Delete the EGR/Cooler and that will help.

emissions is tough on these trucks.

If I were you I'd contact a few of the local dealerships around and just ask them if they would void your warranty or not. It varies from one dealer to the next.

I agree a dealership in our area will alow delete CAIs and exhaust mods no problemss

I would for sure contact the dealership. Sometimes things that you think would void the warranty don't, and the little things you think wouldn't do! I always call when I do anything to my truck or buddies, and the dealership can usually answer pretty quick

Thanks to everyone for the responses. After much research, I've decided to purchase a Smarty Jr. programmer and DPF delete kit. Is anyone running a setup similar to this without capping/removing the EGR and cooler? I want to do as little as possible to get rid of my error codes but I want to be sure to not cause any issues down the road.

Personaly i think i would delete the egr and dpf to avoid anymore issues. As diesel pap said the emissions are hard on these trucks. kill the dog, end the rabies sorta thing ya know?
|
as said above you may as well remove it all its going to do is give you more probs plug ur grid heater ect ect you dont need it :tu:

I have the same problem don't kno much about the egr so is it even possible to run dpf delete and smarty Jr. W/o blocking off egr
