:humm:All these 6.7 problems:humm:

I have a 6.7 and run Chevron Delo 400. It's cheap good oil. Also use it in a fleet of Dump trucks, heavy Construction Machinary, and all the shop trucks. No issues with it. Only reason I'd pay $10-$12 a quart of oil is if it lasted 40,000k + and gave me more MPG's.

Schaeffers with moly is a great oil as well.

i like rotella , , but have also used amsoil, i think the rotella is great for the price, it's what everyone told me to run when i got my first diesel

Well I might as well pipe in and say AMSOIL is a good choice, as are others. The big thing with your truck, assuming your DPF is still in tact, is fuel dilution. Yes, some oils can help diminish wear better than others in the presence of fuel, but this is what will eventually limit the distance you can go. I would not run more than 7500 miles without getting it tested and seeing how it is doing.
If no DPF, then no worries. Yes you can run amsoil farther, (3x OEM interval...without the DPF), but I still like to get an OA at some point just to make sure nothing else is going on, then I feel more comfortable with the 15-20k intervals I run. |
I use the Valvoline Super Blue...Love it!

i was just wondering some guy told me when u run over on oil changes it regens more and the ctalyst fills up quicker cause the oil when used up creates gases in the crankcase.and after 6000 miles it breaks down.:hellox:i think he was talking out his ass cause know he has a 2011 6.7 Fuc3in Old Rebuilt Dodge.he also told me 6 months ago the new rebuilt dodge(ford) was coming with 6.7 cummins in them..

i agree amsoil is dam good

T.r.c with moly if you us there oil free o.a
|
I have seen in other posts out there where they were going 25k on amsoil but they were using a secondary oil bypass filter. I might think about doing that in the future. But only after the DPF deletes are in place.
