Your tag or profile says 23+ mpg with 6.4Liter 2008? My question is How the f@#$ do you get 23 mpg. At 70 mph With Hypertech tuner I get 13.5mpg prior to tuner 11.5mpg. I drive roughly 4500 miles a month. 23mpg would save my butt, 18mpg would be an erotic moment. |
YES IT IS CALIBRATED AND CONFIRMED BY MY GPS AS TO SPEED. WHAT TUNER DO YOU USE? I AM THINKING COLD AIR INTAKE MAY HELP, BUT IM A DRIVER NOT A MECHANIC AND THEY ALL OF COURSE CAN PROVE THEY ARE THE BEST, ANY TIPS?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- OH P.S. - Bought truck in feb 09 i think and 41k mileage so do i really care about 3/36 warranty. |
delete your DPF and you will see a huge difference in MPG

So far all i've done to my 6.4 is add a AFE PRO 7 DRY drop-in air-filter, I'm only getting 12 MPG in the city & 15.8 MPG in the highway. I'm at 14,692 miles

At the very least, find yourself a warranty friendly technician,:w2: and pray that Ford doesn't send an inspector to look at it should there be a catastrophic failure.
I want to do some upgrading but nothing that is going to void the warranty ( at least until it expires ( almost 57K miles on her now ) fuel MPG is killing me @ 10.2 10.4 in town, and maybe 13.5 highway. Would you happen to have any recommendations for me that are fairly cheap ( i blew my wad on the truck buying it and the wife, well im sure you know!:scare2: ) and a good quality product. Thank You sir for your time and patience I hope with your reponse I am able to do the upgrades and report back with positive news.:rocking: Thanks again:hellox: Trapper-db |
From what I have seen and read the only way to get any reasonable mileage gain is to delete the DPF.

everybody that buys a dpf delete off of me reports back good mpgs. :tu:
