6.5 cutting out
My buddy has a 6.5 turbo diesel in a 94 3/4 chevy. He cannot go over 55mph. The motor starts bogging down. What could be the problem ? Sensor, module, need help fast.. Thanks for the help.
:argh::argh: |
has the fuel filter been changed lately and has the air filter been looked at :humm:
|
that doesnt seem like a fuel problem to me. does it run fine until 55mph? seems like a computer or sensor problem to me. but i couldnt tell you exactly which ones im not too up on these
|
is it an auto? any codes?
|
try ssdieselsupply.com email walt he'll get back to you on it if you have any codes put them in the email its on there tech page had a 1997 6.5 sold it to my friend did a lot to it could run with the stock late models no problem

6.5
Yes it runs and idles fine until you get to around 50 - 55 mph then it wont go any faster. Something was mentioned about a throttle position sensor???
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I read something about replacing the PMD could this be the problem?(pump mounted driver) is that small black box mounted on the side of your injection pump. It is a signal amplifier that powers the fuel solenoid |
no pmd is fine if it runs good except above 55 mph

Woody35, i missed your previous post ! It is an automatic. No check engine light is on, not to say that the light isn't burnt out. I will try to get the codes on it if it has any.
|
there might be some stored codes too that wont trip the ses light. im thinking its something with the tranny. i wish i had my factory service books but there currently in another state being used by my friend because they would have some good diacnostic things to do.
