Brightest Factory Replacement Headlight Bulbs
 

I'm in the market for the brightest factory replacement bulbs I can find (don't want HID's). I've had my eyes on a set PIAA Xtreme White bulbs. Not sure what I want, there are soo... many choices. Hoping for some advice. Thanks

I just bought some really bright, white lights for the wife's Jeep Liberty at Auto Zone for about $55. I can't remember the name, but they came in a hard plastic case, not the cardboard and plastic wrap other lights come in. The bulbs look blue, but they burn white, they aren't HID and I plan to get a set for my Souper Doody. The parts monkey should be able to point them out for you.

The only Auto Zone in my area is in the process of being built, bummer. The description you gave sounds a lot like the PIAA's I'm looking into, except for the price, I'm looking at about 80 bucks for a set of these.

Im using Recon diamond white bulbs for my headlites and fogs. They are a little pricey but they have different colors and their close to as bright as hids.

Do you know anything about the Recon Platinum Blue bulbs? They say they put out tons of light but I'm worried about melting my headlight (bulb may produce too much heat). They claim they burn cool enough I don't have to upgrade my harness and they won't burn anything up. What's you opinion on the heat side of things?

HA! Found them! Sylvania Silverstar Zxe, you should be able to find them at just about any parts house. They made a BIG difference in our Jeep at night.

Be careful...I burned up my connectors using some Hella bulbs. Went with some other for now. I got to check those connectors again.....:argh:

My superduty is the first Ford vehicle between myself and my gf that didn't have melted plastic connectors on the back of the bulb. Her escape's connectors are melted right now (still function 100%) and it's only had the original Ford bulbs in there... I see this a lot actually. This truck still hasn't done it, even with my HID's in, but my rangers all did it before too.

My buddy has a ranger for his winter rat, and we both bought HID's at the same time. He ended up pulling his out because they just scattered too much in the stock ranger housing and he was getting too many people flashing him, so he did some research for the brightest non HID bulb he could get and he ended up getting.

Ok I lied, he got them for his new TDI, said he ended up putting basic silverstars in his Ranger, but here's what he told me:

I bought them for the TDI. Ranger still has silverstars in it. I got these Philips Xtreme Power bulbs:

I picked a pair of 9007 bulbs up new on ebay for about $30.

There is a brighter version of the Philips bulb that has come out since that one (“up to 100% brighter than standard halogen”), but you will get more life out of the “80% brighter” versions I bought from what I read. Here are the 100% versions (Xtreme Vision):

Well I think I made up my mind. I went down to the local parts store tonight and picked up a set of Sylvania Silverstar zXe's for my headlights and a set of Sylvania Siverstars for my fog lights. Karl if your right this should light everything up very nicely. Thanks everyone for all the input, I greatly appreciate it!!!:tu::c:

I have hids in both of my f250's haven't hard a problem. I'd suggest shelling out the extra money for hid's if you really want to be sure you'll be able to see.
