Sinister Coolant Filtration System

These guys kick ass! Fast as hell shipping to Canada and an awesome product.

The kit was installed in less than 25 min. Sin is using pipe dope now and there was no leaks at all.

Plus, the piece looks bad ass just sitting there.

Looks good, where's your powerstroke badge piece for the top of the motor?

Looks good. I have one and one of the joints leaked after it was on for about a month...but I fixed it! I changed the filter after about 3k miles and cut open the filter and I didn't find any debree in it...but I also did a really good flush before hand.

sly1types howd u fix it?

It was leaking by the ball joint. I just unscrewed it and put on some new teflon tape and tightened it down firm and it hasn't leeked since. I know some guys do the liquid teflon tape...

I used teflon tape on mine, haven't found leaks yet, but if it does I'm going to Loctite 545. Don't use any other type of loctite than a specific "thread sealant" one though. The 545 is specifically made for fuels and such, I think it'd work great for this.

Also you can tell it's time to change the coolant filter by feeling the top of the housing. If it is piping hot, it's still good. When it starts getting cooler after running the truck for a while (ie, no flow through it) then change it.

Wish I would have held out for this one very nice, I bought one from dieselsite. I guess both do the same job

^Pretty much:tu:
I'm taking the cheap route and just pieceing mine together. Nothing on a vehicle around here stays pretty long, so no since in me coughing out the extra cash...... it does look pretty good though.

What are you going to save? $10? $20? Plus you have to go through the trouble of piecing it together? Everyone I've spoke to who has done this wishes they just bought one. Thus why I just bought one. Trust me, you're not saving anything. Just pay the $130 and buy it! :c:
