GOGO's egr delete worth the money?

Im looking into sending doug a intake manifold and let him machine it and block everything off, any pros or cons to this route?

Goose350 04-05-2011 09:20 PM

Worth it. Completely deletes the EGR, the intake manifold is Soot free and the coolant is routed straight to the oil cooler

The only bad thing is i dont know how long it will take to get one shipped to me, iv heard doug got hurt working and isnt in the shop. Iv tried to call and check on availability but no answer :td:

Doug is back at it but he is dad is now in the hospital fighting cancer. I'm sure he will get back to you as soon as he has a minute.

BTW they say it drops the EGTs more than a A/M CAC

ok, not meaning to jack this thread, but what all do they do to the intake?
Would someone with a spare intake, tig welder, an small mill be able to do the same thing????:humm:
Sorry, I like doing this kind of stuff myself.

You can try yeah. I plan on trying this myself as well, I have a spare intake manifold sitting here.

He machines off the coolant passage and welds a plate over it, and also welds the bottom where the egr cooler feeds in. He also hot-tanks the inside and I think he will powdercoat any color you want. That is the stage 2 intake.

The stage 1 has a LOT more work done, the tops of the runners are machined off, the inside is machined for optimum flow, new covers are made and bolted to the top of the runners and it flows a whole heck of a lot more air. Doug has numbers posted on PSN and I would guess his own site as to the improvement of airflow.

Im want to get the stage 1 kit but that's alot of cash, im at least getting stage 2 when he gets back to me. I hate to hear that bout his dad, Doug's had it rough lately

I'm going to try to get one when they get back from TS. This is from their web site

The stock manifold would flow 159 CFM to the rear most cylinder on the driver's side (Cylinder 8). Cylinder number 6 right in front of it would flow 170CFM. It was pulling air through the manifold at 28" of water. After cutting the tops off, machining the floors and adding the taper to the ports. Cylinder number 8 now flows 247CFM. And cylinder 6 now flows 244. This is a 55% increase of available air to the rear cylinder.

This is a performance modification. Deletion of the EGR system will require custom tuning to eliminate the possibility of a check engine light. The valve can still be installed in the manifold if it is needed to pass a visual inspection. A core charge of 200 dollars can be avoided if you send your manifold to be modified. The oil cooler fitting from your engine is needed to be modified to accept the AN hose fitting adapter. A core charge of 65 dollars applies to the cooler fitting.

Doug is back from TS. His leg is healing up VERY well, and his dad is doing very well in his cancer treatment. I've found the best way to get a hold of Doug is to just text him or hit him up on facebook.

be sure if you order a kit from him that you are in no rush 6 months to get mine and paid cash up front. If I had known that up front I sure would have got something else that is for sure. :argh:
