FICM code, won't start

I guess it had to happen sooner or later, my truck crapped itself.

After doing a secondary fuel filter housing swap it refused to start. It threw an FICM code and it is pumping fuel into the bowl.

So, just exactly how screwed am I?

Mdub707 06-04-2010 11:30 AM

What code exactly is it? Make sure the plugs on the FICM are pushed on really tight.

Karls03 06-04-2010 01:06 PM

they were never pulled off! The truck ran fine prior to pulling the filter housing.

I would really Double Check all wires going to FICM it may not be bad something might have come unplugged somewhere But if it does turn out to be bad I Have a Spear one id sell ya

Karls03 06-06-2010 07:32 PM

swapped FICMs, still have low voltage code, also picked up P0603 programming code :argh::argh: Going to call Innovative and PHP Monday.

Mdub707 06-06-2010 08:36 PM

P0603 is usually thrown when changing tunes on a "programmer" other than SCT... It's the KAM code, (keep alive memory)

Are you using your Edge now? What tune are you on? Have you tried stock tuning? This is confusing...

Why did you say it was a FICM code, did you throw a different code before?

FRIDAY88 06-06-2010 10:09 PM

the juice with attitude doesnt actually program the PCM like an actual Tuner does it just plugs in under the hood and what not correct? so he should just beable to unplug juice module and see if that helps This is Wierd??:humm:

from what ive gathard you need to take your truck and have the PCM reflashed its about 105 bucks

Edge on, Edge off, it didn't change a thing, so that eliminates the Edge from the list of problems. Maybe I pulled something that I didn't realize. Maybe it's just a BS anomoly that is screwing with me. Maybe I need to send the FICM off to have it re-flashed for an 03. I'll make a few phone calls and see what I can find.

Well, we both figured that going in Sunday, so I shouldn't be too booty hurt that it didn't work out.:dang: Hey, once you pull the puke tank, that sucker ain't that bad to get to. Took an hour to get out including the stripped nut holding the MAF down that I was rewarded with. Not bad for a first attempt.

Talked to Innovative a few minutes ago, I could hear the tech's butt suck up seat when I said that I had disconnected some items to change the filter bowl. Back to step one, clean and re-install all connectors from the filter bowl swap.

Mdub707 06-07-2010 01:53 PM

So what was the FICM code thrown? You said it threw one, I asked which one and you gave me P0603 which isn't a FICM code... I've only seen P0603 thrown when using bullydogs and banks stuff.... It's a "nothing code" it's harmless, but it seems you still have other issues. I would say you got that code from the FICM swapping, which makes sense. Did you get the FICM code with the new FICM?

Sounds like you are on the right track going through the connections again. Make's sense since it happened just after your swap. Let us know how it goes!:pca1:
