Sorry if I was rude, this is really kicking my tail and appearently my manners are taking the toll. The FICM code was (and still is) P1378. It remained when I swapped in the 06 FICM. I've only seen P0603 thrown when using bullydogs and banks stuff.... It's a "nothing code" it's harmless, but it seems you still have other issues. I would say you got that code from the FICM swapping, which makes sense. The P0603 was related to the swap because it went away when I put the 03 unit back in on advice from Innovative that the FICM is most likely NOT the issue. Did you get the FICM code with the new FICM?It threw the P1378 with BOTH FICM units.

Sounds like you are on the right track going through the connections again. Make's sense since it happened just after your swap. Let us know how it goes!:pca1:

I even pulled some more airlet crap to have more working room when re-installing the 03 unit. I checked, and blew out the connectors with computer air.

The only thing I have not tried is bleeding the fuel system. Partly because I have no clue how, or if it is needed. I am getting fuel at the fuel filter bowl. However the bowl makes a hissing noise when I initially crack it.:humm: I'm so discouraged now that I am ready buy some f'in ether and see if that won't "pull" some fuel through the lines and make her run again.

Further confusing things is that the Edge sees this P1378 and the OBII "more driving needed" code, but my hand held Actron scanner isn't. Yeah, yeah, it was a $129 Auto Zone part for the Jeep, but still...:s::s:

DO NOT USE ETHER!!!!!

You are running the risk of blowing your motor clean apart. The ether will light from the glow plugs! DO NOT DO IT!

If you are getting fuel into the bowl, then you should be getting fuel to the injectors. Since you're throwing a FICM code, that tells me your injectors are probably not firing. However, try bleeding it, but turning the key forward to the "run" position and let the pump run til it shuts off, try this about 5 times. You may still not be getting fuel fully pressurized up that way.

I did some searching, and this might be a long shot, but it's an easy thing to check...

Could be this:

Various Electronic and Driveability Symptoms and Codes:
2005 F-Super Duty trucks built before 5-11-05 may exhibit various electronic-related symptoms due to loose/miss-installed fuses in the engine compartment fuse box. These symptoms may be intermittent. The fuses should be inspected to verify they are installed into the terminals in the fuse box and not along side the terminals.
Fuses--Symptoms
#9, 20 amp: Trailer turn signals inoperative
#10, 10 amp: Check Engine Light; Codes P1633, P0446
#11, 10 amp: Speedo bounce, ABS light, Cruise control inop; Codes U1900, U2023, P0500-P0503
#12, 2 amp: Cruise control inop, TBC Fault displayed, chime; Code C2803
#13, 15 amp: Day time running lamps inop
#15, 15 amp: Crank/no start, bucking, stall; Codes P2614, P2617, P1378
#17, 10 amp: A/C inop or not cooling
#18, 10 amp: Crank/no start, bucking, stall; P2614, P2617, P1378, P0611
#20, 10 amp: Trailer back up lamp inop
TSB 05-11-14

Looks like #15 and #18 might be possible suspects.

P1378 is a low voltage supply to the FICM. If that helps anything...

Also check this link... (as a warning most of the guys on here are complete jacka#@Q#$, so ignore their ignorance, but I was just simply showing you that it might be an issue with the edge possibly?)

:jump:I FIXED IT!!!!:jump:

There is a 10A fuse between the two stacks of 3 relays, that was it! Number 15 is NOT used in either the 03 OR 05 owner's manual and #18 is the blinker/brake lights. The Owner's Manual also said there was an FICM logic fuse (15A) under the hood, NOT! There was a 10 and a 20, no 15, both were good.

BIG HUGE THANKS to Mdub and Friday for all of your inputs that were helpful along the way. :c:

No problem, glad you got it fixed!:c:

i have a similar problem with mine. i'm getting a p1378 code and a KAM code. new ficm still not getting fuel to the cylinder. preformed injector buzz test. test is suppose to buzz all 8 at once and then go through and buzz ech injector one at a time. ran test twice. could not hear any injector buzz. however it passed test both times. any suggestion would be helpful. both me and my mechanic are scratching our heads.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

in the fuse box under the hood there is a single 10amp fuse in with 5 or so relays. does anybody know what voltage should be running though it? i'm only getting 0.4 volts with key on engine off. can't remember what position it is in but it's the only fuse in there, rest are relays.

.4 volts doesn't sound right off the top of my head, but honestly I can't say for sure.

it's not the FICM, it's the supply of power going to it, so that sounds like you have your problem found. The KAM code is just because you swapped FICM's.

i don't know if this bit of info will shine a little more light on things but i also have low voltage from the map sensor, but i dont think that would cause it to not start

I need help guys my 03 6.0 will crank no start no blown fuses just replaced the ICP and there are no codes at all using snap on brick:s:

Mdub707 06-15-2010 05:16 PM

More info....

How many miles, when did it stop running? Has it been sitting then you tried starting it? Did you do anything before this? When's the last time the oil was changed, or the fuel filters? Are you getting fuel to the fuel bowl if you remove the secondary filter and turn the key?

golflarge 06-16-2010 12:38 AM

The ride has 112K on it, the damn thing never left us stranded we parked it and one day It just didnt start I have since changed the fuel filters and checked for pressure it sprayed all over my code readers get nothing so I went back to basics charged the new interstate batteries 2months old cleaned the terminals checked the fuses. Then went to work four ford techs told me cam position sensor ICP, with harness so i have replaced it all WTF:scare2:
