MBRP exhaust 5" Turbo Back
 

I'm running a 4" Turbo back with Cat on my 04, 6.0. Ran into a fella that is selling a 5" Turbo back with no Cat. cheap. Is there any real gain by switching and running less Cat? I've heard some say perhaps a little better fuel mileage and lower egt. Any input is appreciated.

I know the EGT's went down some when I removed the cat on my 04 and 05 6.0's. Just get a Cat delete pipe for your 4".

i was told by all the diesel shops around here not to run 5 inch unless you have more than 500 horse or it does no good for your truck but definatly take the cat out it gets clogged with soot quick and it makes the truck sound good

5" will give you a deeper exhaust tone

Thanks for the input folks. This poor little beast has spent so much time in the "Hospital" with chronic problems, I'm always looking for things to help it feel better. If the "5" in. pipes would help it in anyway without compromising anything, then I might consider buying. Currently when I throttle down hard I see the EGT push close to 1400 for a few secs.... Kinda makes me "pucker up" during those moments.:ouch: If keeping the 4 in. pipes, but deleting the Cat is a smarter approach, well then I'll break out the chainsaw and comense with amputation.

1400 wow!!! i have never had mine go over 1200-1250

1400 EGT/35 PSI Boost @ full throttle using Extreme Street. Hence the reason for asking about the 5 in. exhaust and going Cat-less.

i had a 4" cat back with no guts in the cat, went with a 5" turbo back system and it dropped egts 100-150 with banks 6gun/speedloader on position 6
