SCT performance test accuracy?
Hey guys,
All I have done to my truck so far is put in the SCT livewire. Since the truck is my "haul stuff" vehicle not a drag truck I haven't actually taken it to a drag strip, so just for giggles I did the performance test on the SCT with the stock tune in place, and then re-programed with the canned street tune. There was enough improvement for me to wonder if the livewire cheats when measuring performance when there is a canned tune installed in the pcm. I don't really believe this, but the amount of improvement was surprising to me. :rocking: Keith Stock tune and with full tank of fuel 7940 lbs: 0 - 30 3.1 0 - 60 10.12 1/4 mile 17.56 @ 77.67 290.2 HP 499.7 LB-FT @ 3050 RPM Canned street tune and with full tank of fuel 7940 lbs: 0 - 30 1.86 0 - 60 6.61 1/4 mile 15.08 @ 88.86 446.2 HP 670.5 LB-FT @ 3496 RPM 0 - 30 improved 1.24 seconds 0 - 60 improved 3.51 seconds 1/4 mile improved 2.48 seconds and 11.19 mph HP improved 156 HP Torque improved 170.8 LB-FT |
