Depends on how much fuel you're trying to burn. Mine's set at 3/16" with no problems, but I've only got a turn or two on the full-fuel screw and small injectors. I could probably back it off a shade and it'd still be ok but it runs fine as it is, although a touch rattly.
I have yet to measure how much an 1/8" is, (standard 1st gen. timing bump) with regards actual degrees. But I know for certain that if you jump a tooth on your pump gear that will yield you a 10° advance. Some folks jump a tooth AND push the pump to the head. But, most of 'em are running big injectors. |

If you have a little money to play with. The M&H timing spacer is ideal. Leave your timing stock and let the spacer alter the pumps dynamic timing instead. Only thing the 1/8th bump has over the timing spacer is that the bump is free
