M&H Inc. Fuel Pin vs. Denny T Fuel Pin??

Hey guys! I want some more info on the subject of fuel pins. There are alot of companys making fuel pins and I wana know who yall thank has the better product!! I found these guys M&H Inc. on ebay(Item# 290402117822) and I am thanking about putting one in my 4bt, but I also have heard good things about Denny T. So what is yalls opinion? :humm:

tltruckparts 02-27-2010 05:38 PM

i love my m&h m3 pin. i think the denny t is also a good pin too but very smokey from what i hear. i think the biggest up to the m&h pins is the versatility as where theres 5 levels to choose from and with a denny t theres only one

tower_ofpower 02-27-2010 07:07 PM

i think if i had to do it over again i'd get the M4, i'm satisfied with the M3 but under light throttle you can drastically tell when the pin drops. now stompin on it you cant tell the difference :w2: tunability is the key with the M&H pins, denny T is virtually the same thing as the M5, smoke tends to be an issue as tltruckparts had said. some have found that too agressive of a pin actually causes more low end problems because of over fueling. prices are that same; varying afew bucks

muskrat 02-27-2010 07:12 PM

I,too, love my M&H M4 pin. tltruckparts, pretty much nailed the differences, but I would like to add that M&H Inc. is a sponsor on this site and it's good to support those who support us. Plus, M&H is awesome to deal with.:c:

smokincummins92 02-27-2010 09:42 PM

Thanks for the info guys!! I thank ill be getting a M&H

seandonato73 02-27-2010 10:43 PM

i love my m4 too

The_Head 02-28-2010 09:14 AM

Denny T Stage 2 = M&H M5... iirc

The Denny T Stage 1 is no longer made.

hiboy_76 02-28-2010 12:49 PM

Do i need to get a fuel pin? I already rotated my stock pin and took out my afc srping.

I reckon you do if you want more hp and better performance. It will make a huge improvement. A hundred bucks well spent IMO.

if you get an aftermarket fuel pin i'd go ahead and put your spring back in, if you like the crazy smoke on take off just turn your star wheel down. i wouldnt run with out a spring but that's just me. you dont really NEED another fuel pin but they sure are nice to have. i actually liked my home cut pin, but it was a tad smokey. the M3 pretty much eliminated low end smoke but top end fueling and boost is about the same, i cant really complain other than a power surge when driving lightly. i'd go the M4 route if i could do it over again. but i'm still VERY satisfied with the M3. you really can't beat M&H products :c:

hiboy_76 02-28-2010 07:17 PM

i just didnt know if it would make a difference to get a fuel pin or not since its at the deepest point and i dont have to wait for the fuel to get there, ya know what i mean?

tower_ofpower 02-28-2010 07:51 PM

oh it'll make a huge difference... the deepest setting of the stock pin isnt even close to the deepest point of the M&H pins, the stock pin has a gradual steady ramp up, M&H profiles are different and far more aggressive

You can see the difference here.

If I was to do it again I would go with a M&H M3 or M4. My DennyT stage 2 makes great power up top but fuels to hard down low and is hurting my spool up.

DieselPerformanceGuy 03-01-2010 03:52 PM

alright guys i have the bully dog pin, and i was thinking about getting the m and h m3 pin, is it worth the swap

tower_ofpower 03-01-2010 05:00 PM

i've heard of issues with the bully dog pin being too soft of a steel and the pin wearing a groover into the pin, so any hardened pin would be better at this point. i've got the M3 and i cant really complain, its got a power surge tho, it'd probably be less noticeable possibly eliminated with some AFC tuning, just i havent been able to get around to it.

SteveinAz 03-01-2010 10:07 PM

I wouldn't buy a Dennyt. I just removed mine because it's deeply gouged after 4 months of occasional use. Certainly not hardened and he won't answer my email. I have pics if anyone cares. And yes it fuels too fast. I'm thinking an M3 this time.

I just got off the phone and everything worked out with DennyT. He had a bad batch of material get through and he is replacing mine with a pin with the correct hardness.

Wow. I'll have to check mine. I know he had an issue with some bad material and replaced a some for some other people. Keep trying him.

In all reality its not hurting anything.

oldgrey90 03-11-2010 06:39 AM

so my question is do you drive every day with these fuel pins? i keep debating on buying one but am not sure. whats it do to you egt's?

SteveinAz 03-11-2010 07:19 AM

Everyday driving is no problem. Towing is smokey but heat is manageable. Just tune the afc to come in late.

jasonfriedlin 03-11-2010 10:41 AM

I just got word from AlwaysWorking that my M3 is back enroute due to en error I made with my shipping address so I'll be able to give you some feedback on it next week I hope. Im glad I thought I was out 100 bucks

RSWORDS 03-11-2010 07:12 PM

Damn Jason. Thats awesome news!

Hell yeah I thought I was out of luck but he PM'ed me this morning. BTW got the BBQ this afternoon and its got my seal of approval. That stuff is awesome :tu:

RSWORDS 03-11-2010 07:59 PM

I made some steaks with it... best I ever had.

oldgrey90 03-13-2010 07:43 AM

so what would be the one to go with m3 or m4? i think i'm going to contact m&h monday. is that who you all are saying to go with?

jasonfriedlin 03-13-2010 09:51 AM

Thats who I would go with. All the pins give about the same top end fuel so it seems to me the M4 is gonna be a lil smokier than the M3 low and mid range

RSWORDS 03-13-2010 11:10 AM

I run a DennyT right now, but If I had to do it again I would go with one of teh M&H pins. They both have the same total fueling but my DennyT fuels to hard down low and is VERY smokey around town, I would go with one of the M&H pins thats less aggressive on the bottom end. But thats just me.

Also M&H is a sponcor here so its nice to support those who help keep this iste around for us all.

seandonato73 03-14-2010 12:58 AM

my M4 is a tad smokey, in the bottem, but gave me the best seat of pants dyno results out of the set.... well worth the money

jasonfriedlin 03-16-2010 09:19 PM

I got mine today and installed it. Wow its awesome. The M3 seems to be a good setup, not too smokey but still gets up and goes. I might need to do a little tuning but all in all, its awesome.

RSWORDS 03-17-2010 05:02 PM

Big improvment huh Jason? :D

Try turning up your smoke screw some.

jasonfriedlin 03-17-2010 08:45 PM

Its really not bad unless you mat it all the way to the floor from a dead. Ill see what it does when it warms up more but the smoke is just about right

RSWORDS 03-19-2010 02:15 PM

How are your EGT's?

jasonfriedlin 03-19-2010 03:28 PM

They are fine so far. Im interested to see what happens when it warms up outside. My goal is a new turbo hopefully soon after I get back there. Ive just about outgrown that stock one

RSWORDS 03-19-2010 03:53 PM

If you have not out grown it... You will with in days of getting back when I get my hands on it.... :D

dark knight cummins 11-22-2010 10:11 AM

im just ordered a denny T to give it a try. i figure why not. anyone who has one, how has it affected your fuel milage?

cummins smokin 11-25-2010 05:48 PM

How much are the M&H pins?

1stGen1990 11-25-2010 08:04 PM

I have a dennyt and i still get over 20 MPG easy, they are a little smoky down low but that cleared up when i got a better turbo. Id be interested to try a M&H to compare.

The_Head 12-09-2010 12:40 PM

I recently switched to a Denny T stage 1 (it made a comeback) and it is great! It does away with much of the bottom end smoke.

cummins smokin 12-09-2010 05:15 PM

Im going to go with a Denny T stage 2! Hopefuly after Christmas :yeah:

FordGuy100 12-17-2010 11:01 AM

I just picked up a 91 VE pumped cummins (for $450 :jump:). Doing some basic maintaince on it right now. Should swap it into my truck sometime next winter.

I was wondering the same thing about fuel pins, as I've heard about both. Youtube has some vids of a guy testing out the various M&H products. It seemed as though the M3 actually made more hp/tq than the M4 and M5. Kinda makes me go into the realm of a kid at the candy store, which one which one!

Where to buy these M&H pins? Did I hear ebay?
