Looking For Some Extra Power

I have a 91 cummins 12 valve looking to add power. What is a good cheap way to add power. I was looking at an old smokey fuel pin and mabey some new 80 hp injectors. What do u guys think?

I like the different patterns of teh M&H pins better then teh old smokey.

Look in teh sticky for ways to turn up your pump.

I don't want to turn up the fuel pump and loose mpg's But it might be worth it i'am not sure what do u think.

you wont loose mpg's turning the pump up. i have my pump maxed out with a 3200 govenor spring and denny T pin and i can get 19 in town and 25 highway.

Well, ya might lose a little mpg at first, cause you'll be like a kid with a new toy:D But that will be your own fault. As long as you you drive it nice you'll keep the mpg you have now, mabey even improve it a little. The ctd only needs so much fuel to function, doing upgrades to it gives you the option to go like a raped ape, thus lowering mpg, but a little self-control will keep it in check.:U:

FUEL SCREW.

Wire up a switch to turn off your alternator for a free two-four horsepower. :U:

Take out your air conditioning system for weight reduction.

Take out your parking brake for weight reduction (not recommended for manual-transmission-equipped vehicles).

Take out the heater grids for better airflow. Take out the circuitry for weight reduction.

Go to a smaller gel-cell or AGM battery for weight reduction.

Water injection system using a power steering pump welded onto a starter motor.

Advance the timing.

Loose half of the bolts holding the truck together. Claim you did it for weight reduction.

Instead of the stock jack, carry a AAA card. Weight-reduction.

Instead of a spare tire, carry two cans of Fix-A-Flat. Weight-reduction.

Install a subwoofer and amplifer. It totally undo's everything you did for weight reduction, but it's awesome enough to make it worth it.

Take the vanes out of the injection pump's transfer-pump portion, block off the stock inlet, and feed the pump through the shut-off solenoid hole with a belt-driven ISX fuel pump and a boost-referenced pressure regulator. Mount an HE561VE variable geometry turbocharger to an individual-runner exhaust manifold and control it with a custom controller, then individually-tune each cylinder through port-injected nitrous on a individual-runner aftermarket intake manifold. Balance the rotating mass, bore out the cylinders .040 over with matching low-compression flycut pistons, install 6x018 injectors along with a 14mm head and rotor and 4mm camplate. Buy a matched after-market cam and valve springs; roller tappets are optional. Trade your wife or sister (whoever's cuter) for a transmission.

Steel bed?

What's a steel bed?

aarons91cummins 10-22-2009 07:31 AM

It's a flat bed. My cummins is a wooden flat bed. Thats why I am looking for a steel bed or aluminum if its cheap.
