I planned on putting a chip on first but i'm new to diesel's so i wasn't sure. I thought about straight piping it and putting a air filter do you have any better ideas or recommend any brands?

Well, first and foremost, IMO, would be exhaust. Make it breathe more efficiently first before bombing the heck out of it. Straight piping that beast would be LOUD. But then again that would depend if you have the kitty, DPF etc... or not. I have an 06 dually. I went with AFE 4" turbo-back exhaust (straight piped) and it was loud. But towing, it was REDICULOUSLY loud. Bought an MBRP straight through muffler and toned it down quite a bit. Now I can hear myself cuss @ rice burners with big wings. :tttt:

Thats was the only thing i was afraid of was how loud it was going to be. Im not really worried about towing i will mainly be using it to drive back and forth to work. Recommend anything or brands air filter, cold air intake, programmers?

Well, if youre not gonna be towing anything, go straight piped. It sounds so sweeeeeeet! Especially in the lower RPMs. However, you may get some In-cab droning. Just turn up the stereo...........:w2: I wish I could have left mine staight piped, but I do tow a large travel trailer when I travel & I usually travel 4-5 times a year. Aaaaah, retirement is great.............:tttt:

Thanks Bigg Redd I plan on straight piping it. Is there anything I can put on it after I straight pipe so it won't be as loud if I don't like how loud it is in the cab?
