Triple turbo monster mega cab.

New to the site, Thought I would share my build. Turbo work was done by Wide Open Performance. Motor work by Industrial. Trans work by ATS. Killer setup. Here is the status of my build and the results:

Motor:
12v rods (shotpeened)
14mm main studs
Gorilla gurdle
Fly cut, Teflon coated pistons
Balanced rotating assy
Billet pushrods
110# springs
Hardened seats
H11 Studs
Dp1 cam

Fueling:
Bullydog 2.4.1
TS mp8
65 lpm nozzles
120% cp3

Air:
2400 cfm wide open performance triple turbos ft pius turbos

Trans:
ATS stage 4

Cosmetics:
Longbed conversion by Precision Bodyling
Fabtech 4.5 lift
20'' xd wheels
35/12.50 toyos
Home brewed traction bars via Wide Open Performance.

Results: 1079hp uncorrected. Ran low on rail pressure so some major changes are underway.
Whats getting changed:
Dmax cp3 over 120%
PCS standalone and new trans build
Experimenting with tuning.

New goal, 1300 hp. Im sceptical but Its the goal. Thats just about it... Any questions just ask! :c:

That Truck is sick man. Great job on the build.:rocking:

dangerous1965 06-02-2011 08:43 AM

Engine in there.....really? Where?!:tttt:
Nice build!!! Now we know what can be done when money is no issue! I'd love to take that to a smog check in CA!
Quick Question How did you build the drive shafts and how do those traction bars hold up to that much power?

Farmboy 2.0 06-02-2011 09:03 AM

Have you thought about putting the SSR from Smarty on that bad boy? Or maybe EFI

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Nice looking truck by the way, sick setup

Yes. I have been wanting to try the SSR but trying to figure out if its worth my while to spend the money just to switch to EFI. I have a laptop just for the truck and the pcs controller, I want to be able to do data logging with efi and pcs. Just a waiting game I suppose :pca1:

Farmboy 2.0 06-02-2011 02:35 PM

So far from what testing we have done the SSR has been great on our big cummins here at the shop

Im on my work computer and youtube is blocked, but if you search wide open performance they have some videos hosted of the in-cab gauges and you can see just how quick they spool!

I didnt know! Good to know that Brian. I since had my other mega stretched and contemplated on selling it for a 4th gen and having it stretched. I called the new owners up and most they were willing to deal me was $500 off for being a 3rd time returning customer! Sheesh... You guys always treated me good and both of the trucks have done amazing. I'll have to get ahold of you in the upcoming months :tu:

Thanks! And thanks all for the compliments. For some reason I forgot to subscribe to my own thread and I didnt know I had any replys :argh: I'll be a little more active from now on!

Here is some new eye candy. I had a little set back with some nozzles we installed that ended up damaging the #4 piston. On the table I have a new set of Carillo rods, Hellman intake and a couple other valvetrain goodies ready to go in. This triple set has been sold and Wide Open is designing me a bigger kit that Pius has rated to flow 3800 cfm! My BIGGEST holdup is waiting on Mahle to do another run of their Monotherm piston. If I cant get ahold of a set soon I might opt out for some Ross pistons and continue the build. Im still set of my goal of 1300hp fuel only and have also set my focus on completing the build and entering Diesel Power Challenge 2012 :rocking:

Here are some teasers..

vcustoms86 09-27-2011 04:57 PM

I dont know what your job is but I hate you lol just kidding. Awesome truck. :c: Im trying to finish my 24v and see if I can get to the power challenge next year. VGT twin and a P-Pump conversion on a 24v. We'll see if time and money lets me go play! :c:

Production testing of natural gas and oil wells. Mainly in the Utah, Wyoming, Colorado area. I dare to say it pays decent :c:

These both are my mega-longs. One play, one work.

you don't happen to need a testicle do you?

curious of the wheel base stretch, is it still within comp specs, also what is the curb weight now? I know you mentioned DPC, but what is the actual purpose of the truck? (other than making everyone drool)

No, my testicles are just fine but thanks for the concern!

Purpose of the truck: Purchased stock. First thing that had to go was obviously the weak 48re in favor of an ATS trans. I wanted the mega cab because I drove a QCLB at my previous job and HATED the little back seat but loved the longbed. Mega cab had the space I needed inside but hurt in the cargo area. Truck was then stretched because I haul my snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, g-neck trailer ect. Truck was then upgraded with an arson kit, ddp 90's, ATS compounds, mp8 and bullydog. One unfortunate day racing with the mp8 cranked it stuck an injector and damaged a piston. Out with the old and in with the new. Motor was upgraded with 14mm mains, gurdle, 12v peened/polished rods, flycut coated pistons, billet pushrods, dp1 cam, gdp intake plennum, 110# springs, keepers/retainers, and I reused the ATS H11 studs from the ATS twin install. Decided to upgrade to 180hp nozzles and ditch the mp8. Truck made a consistant 732hp and ran 12.8 @ 107mph all day long. Tech'd in at some pulls and the truck weighs 8440lbs with 1/8th tank of fuel. Stripped some weight to meet the 8k mark and had some luck at pulling. I still used it as my DD/Tow rig ect. I pulled trailers as big as a 40ft enclosed from WY to MI and back. Great all around daily driver. My new job came with the option to lease my truck rather than drive a company provided rig. Truck made a killing in mileage and truck perdiem BUT it put on way to many miles and abuse for my liking (hense my other megacab longbed work truck) so I decided to keep it on the sidelines and up the power even more with wide open performance triple turbos, 300hp nozzles and upgrade the ATS trans with a PCS standalone and VB. As mentioned I had a little problem with the #4 piston so its tore down again to get build even better. That brings us to current. Truck has went from stock - mild - wild - extreme and now im in over my head lol. I attended DPC 11 this summer and helped out at ATS and the idea of entering the comp was decided after watching it. :c:
