well Dave sent out some new solenoids and stuff and went to help install them today and took the pan off and seemed like quite a bit of metal shavings and stuff in it being as i just had the transmission flushed and dave does recommend flushing them so i thought it'd be good to go being as it only had 18-20k miles on it since installation but anyway was looking at the pan and noticed some weird stuff in it and sure enough there was pieces of clutches in the fluid, pretty excited about it, now get to start back on square one

that's not good....... any explanation on the failure? i hope Dave is going to take care of you, from what i've heard and experienced his warranty is worth it's weight in gold....

bobcat67 09-06-2010 09:35 AM

no explanation on the failure yet, we all thought it was an electrical issue or a governor pressure solenoid so we were just going to replace them. with the amount of metal found in the pan i think an entire new transmission is in order, cause it's been circulating that crap through the whole thing which isn't probably a good thing, and I have heard his warranty is worth its weight in gold, i just hope I don't have to shell out any gold because I'm a little low on it right now, and Dave has been a pleasure to work with thus far, just takes alot of time to do so cause he seems to be very busy

Lucky you if it was a suntoast they would have laughed at you! Dave is great but I think you will have to cover the shipping.

I can handle shipping, but another 7-8k I can't

new transmission is on it's way

excellent.

that is one more reason why i bought my Goerend, i too can handle shipping and labor to R&R if i don't do it myself, but having to shell out $5K+ again ain't happening.....

good customer service is a plus.:tu:

yeah I'm very happy to deal with him, it's taken some time to do and he's really busy, which i guess is a good thing, just kinda sucks sometimes trying to get a hold of him, but they always seem to get back to me in a relatively timely fashion and he has no problem shelling out information that probably took him a lot of time to perfect and money to learn to people that help him out in the diagnosing process

thats why when I upgrade my tranny it will be a Goerend:tu::tttt::c:

I'm glad to hear it's getting worked out. Seriously, customer service is the reason I went to LO Trans Unlimited... If I have a question or something doesn't feel right, I call them up and drop it off. All for free. Furthermore, I'm also proud to say that (in my opinion) I got a killer deal on one of the strongest, best shifting 48RE's out there.

If I didn't have LOTU down the street from me, I would have went with a Goerend. But it is nice to have someone a few blocks away!:jump:
