They are fine, and a bunch of people are running them. Make sure you use a gauge to adjust the max boost. Problems stem from completly closing off the signal and raising boost levels above about 38 psi, the usable capacity of your factory turbo. You will not see huge performance gains, but you can see lowered exhaust temps with this mod. To gain performance you need fuel and rpm. Boost is just the air that mixes with the fuel you inject (at the right time). To the extent that you have more fuel to burn, the added air flow will help.

Prices on similar parts to this are all over the range, from $9.95 to over $30. I can't see that any particular part is better than any other, and if you have access to a drill press you can probably make your own part for the cost of the elbow and set screw.

I saw another version on eBay that had a spring-loaded ball bearing with an adjustment screw. That looked interesting also. Might be easier to fine tune, but also might just be more work and more money for the same objective. Like to hear if anyone has run that version. (Of course, the one below would need to be built on the correct elbow for our application.)

the boost elbows are great, however(comma pause for effect) if you run the stock turbo too hard pushing too much boost for too long its gonna crap out on you. and like stated above all your going to see is higher boost numbers and lower egts, especially on a stock truck, which is nice but if you your like most of us and cant just help but play with your truck then it could ruin the turbo in the long run. if its performance you want, and if its in your budget, look into getting a switchable module that has in a built in boost fooler, like the quadzilla xzilleraider 2 or something along those lines. ok im done rambling....

im running hx35 and wastegate is plugged its fine builds boost all the time a big ole spring on the wastegate itself to let some of the boost escape thatz the way to go!
