I got the chrome plug cover from Freightliner along with the insides, bought 3ft of bulk extension cord wire, and stainless nuts and bolts. I'm pretty happy with the end results!

Thanks!

I don't think anybodies chord is long enough for that much of a reach, that's why I had to build and extension.

looks good, makes this easier too for the winter time and dont have to keep that ugly cord hanging out

ZmanTRX4 10-04-2008 11:13 AM

That looks great! I need to do something like that i'm tired of my cord swinging around the front end of my truck hanging off my tow hook

Thanks! I was sick of the swinging cord as well.

Buckshotmckee 10-14-2008 10:26 PM

So far it's been working GREAT! We've had some low 30 upper 20deg. mornings here. I installed my winter front this weekend. Stupid truck is still cold blooded! lol

Stacked03 12-07-2008 05:21 PM

that is awesome... I gotta try something like that with mine

magram 12-13-2008 08:09 AM

tedbuido 02-18-2009 04:42 PM

Dr. Evil 02-18-2009 05:49 PM

Cabela's, it was $45.00? IIRC It's great cause the snaps to hold the thing in place are sticky backed so you don't have to drill through the grill.

tower_ofpower 09-27-2009 08:45 PM

i saw a firstgen with that plug mounted on the passenger side fender... i liked the idea just had no idea where to get it... freightgtliner you say :humm: looks awesome man; just like OE

Buckshotmckee 09-27-2009 09:08 PM

Thanks! I thought about putting it on the side of the bumper but decided to put in the center so it would be more user friendly, + putting it the center it doesn't look like a 3 legged dog! lol

tower_ofpower 09-27-2009 10:08 PM

if it didnt look so good you could even mount it behind a "flip up" licesne plate holder to hide it, but since its chrome why bother? is it of quality or has it started to rust already?

Buckshotmckee 09-27-2009 10:14 PM

Made it through the winter just fine! The connectors started rusting on the backside of the plug. I put a boot around it and electrical tape around both ends and moisture still got in?

Here is what I have, very easy to mount and simple solution.

Been reading post on site for several days, and had to join up. I've read many post about 2003 dodge diesels with the very same problem as mine. My truck only starts after being slugged in to block heater, once started runs great, and will start the rest of the day. Hard to believe I need $3000-$4000 for injectors. I've replaced the crankshaft sensor, batteries are good. the code p0633 pops up when turning key off and on 3 times. Can anybody point me in the right direction? or let me know where to go on this site to find more information.
