New Turbo Installed, Have Some Questions...

I put in my SPS62 last night nd really love it, looks good (no pics yet) sounds good and seems to keep temps under control...but alas I have some questions that I would like answered....please....

1. I have noticed spool-up is significantly slower than stock, I am no longer able to lug it from 1500-1700rpm's without stopping traffic behind me, this concernes me on two fronts. One being that this was supposed to be a great turbo for towing and daily driving, but with not being able to lug it, is the only way around it to have lots more rpm's??? And two being how do some of you leave a dead stop and not cloud your trailer or boat in soot???

2. Will spool-up get better as the turbo breaks-in??? I currently have 75miles on it and have pushed to 35-38psi a few times, what is the proper break-in procedure, if there is one???

3. Might some of you know which TNT tune would be the best to help spool?
I had started out on SW#5 and default on everything else but TQ on #2, and today when I had some time I bumped it up to SW#7 and Tq #3, this seemed to help some but still wondering if you guys have ideas for this???

4. Driving around seems that my EGT's are high compared to stock turbo, same hill I drive home everyday at 70mph, before with stock turbo I would see 8-10 psi and 600-700*. Now with the new turbo, same hill and same speed I now see 2-4psi and 1000-1100*, but once I input more throttle boost comes up to 10psi and temps down to 900*, but by this time I am doing 80 mph...any thoughts???

5. Overall temps are down, with the set-up listed above at 3/4 throttle I see 35-38 psi and EGT's int the 1200* area, which is about the same if not a little better than stock, but I know that my Drive Pressure is way down, thus saving my HG and anything else affected by DP.

If anyone can point me in the right direction as to where to go for spool-up I would greatly appreciate it....Oh and BTW, this things kicks it hard when asked too....!!!!!

Sounds like you need to tune your wastegate.

How so???

From Industrial, it comes pre-set at 45psi....I have not given it all yet, only about 3/4 throttle so far...

Hmm...not quite sure...can't remember which way. Right now, just give it a few hundred miles of break in, then hammer it.

Sounds like the wategate is good if your hitting 35 @ 3/4 pedal. Just need a little more fuel. Give the TNT tune a try and see if that helps.

I am running the TNT tune on SW#7, TM=2, TQ=3, and RP=2.....

Just seems to lag a bit.....must just be me not used to it yet.....

My HT kinda laged a little to. Seems to do ok now after a year of service. Give it a month and she should be rocking.

Yep, needs broken in a bit before you can really get a good feel. As far as the higher EGT's on cruise, etc. The turbo you now have is much more efficient and will flow more air without using as much boost so those EGT's will be up compared to stock. Once you hammer down though the boost will come up and the DP will be down so you will have much more cooler air and it should control your EGT's under load way better. An auto tranny will just act the way yours is right now. 6 speeds are easier to control smoke and will tend to spool a bigger turbo a little better off the bottom. I run my pressure box because without it I get slower spool out of my setup. You may try that. Also, things like the 5" down pipe and turbo back along with the ATS intake horn, ATS exhaust manifold and the AFE Megacannon CAI helps tremendously on spool up. Injectors would help a little as well but may cause even more smoke.
