Problems!!!
I have problems with my fass i can't hear it turn on all the tim, it isn't creating any psi according to my gauge! And now my truck won't stay running! Is it time for a new fass or maybe switch to airdog! Is there an advantage between one or the other?

Is there power at the FASS? Sounds like a loose connection if it isn't going all the time.

Even when it kicks on when I go to start it and have no pressure, could the filter be clogged?
|
If the electric motor is running it should be pulling fuel can you crimp off our return line and the supply line to your injection pump to see if our pump builds pressure. Don't run the truck just bump the ignition and see if the pressure climbs.

Check your filters or better yet just get some new ones. Also check all your wiring, one could be loose or completely of. A fuse in the system could be the link too... Last resort you need a new pump...

Hot wire the lift pump. I'm pretty sure (never seen one) but they probably have a duetch plug that connects to the old fuel pump harness which is right behind the old fuel filter canister. Remove this and find which is your hot and which is your ground. Run the hot to your engine fuse in your fuse panel, I believe its fuse 9 thats my suggestion, that way as soon as you turn your key on you should hear your pump start to prime. Allow the pump to run till you hear it start to grown or if you have a fuel gauge, see fuel pressure. This will by-pass the whole "bump the key" ordeal and the pump will constantly run which will give you peace of mind knowing your always getting fuel pressure to that VP44.:tu:

having the pump run all the time makes a hard starting truck. I have seen a few fuel balls(the one behind the spring) get dirty and not seal so it wont make pressure try cleaning it oo

We're is the ball at?

How does having your lift pump run all the time make a hard starting truck?
|
vp's don't like constant pressure when starting this was a flash update at some point when I did this to my fass I had to crank longer to start but my fass put out 22 psi all the time and a 150gph pump.
the ball is behind the fitting on the pressure line. |
