So i bought these lights...

Euro LED Chrome Housing Headlight w/Corner Light LH+RH | eBay

From ebay. First off i get them in the mail and one has a broken mount. So i go to autozone and grab some plastic weld and fix it... Easier than going through the return process and mailing back... So i go to put em in and the driver's side headlight has a bad socket for the turn signal. So once again i fix the problem and cut off the bad socket and splice it into the truck's wiring directly. It works for about 2 minutes and as i am placing the light into position one of the wires breaks off the circuit board. I didnt tug on it or anything, just the normal movement from putting it into position was enough to break it. So i bust out the soldering supplies and spend 20 minutes trying to solder it back to the board through a 1" hole. I get it soldered and test the lights one more time. Guess what? Now the pass side light has a wire broken off the circuit board... I didnt even touch it! So i solder that one back on and it does not work afterward. So i rip em out throw em on the ground and put my stockers back in. They looked good for the 2 seconds they worked. I call the company to try and get a refund and they say they cant because the lights had been "modified". I didnt modify anything i just fixed the problems that the lights shouldnt have had... He says you should have shipped them back... Well guess what, we would have had to pay shipping 8 times if we shipped them back and forth for each time they broke, did ya think of that jacka$$??? Lesson learned people. These lights look nice on the ebay pages but theyre no better than anything else made these days. Dont buy ebay lights. Theyll be going in my bonfire. :td:

Damn man hate to hear that. They look pretty nice too. I order my headlights off ebay but mine where just the housing and I put in my own HID's and LED's.

And here's where the wires both broke from... A grommet there with some extra wire slack inside the housing and the wires would have been fine. It really not rocket science. I guess an extra 10 cents for a grommet is too much for the manufacturer to dish out.

I tried the ebay headlight route too. I didn't have quite as many problems as you did, but they were still pieces of junk. I just ended up doing the sport headlight mod instead.

That and the lights don't have built in resistors so the turn signals flash fast...

kingbrad89,

That flat out sucks. Sorry to hear that you had those issues. I bought some ebay lights awhile back, nothing fancy just like stock but with the clear face. Had them for about two weeks before I cut into them and added FX-R projectors for some HID lighting. Turned out very nice for my first retro fit and being able to see at night again has been a whole new experience.

If you do get some more lights and you are going to put in LEDs in them, let me know I will get you the correct flasher relay to operate leds.

I guess one could always go the Recon route. Just don't type in Recon - Photo profiles for gay men into the url bar, it is so wrong. RECON Truck Accessories - Your Source for LED Vehicle Lighting Accessories is the site for the lights.

Well I talked to a different guy in the company and he said they have had many many problems with these lights and have had 10 returns only recently. They're gonna refund me. Sounds to me like they need to stop selling these if there's such a problem.

coors_man_2005 06-14-2011 10:37 PM
