pretty sure you just have to ground out a pin in the ecm, then you might have to bypass the clutch safety switch.

does it run the wait to start and then start? or does it just start right up?

I'd like to know as well. I always said I'd get one when they teach em how to push the clutch in pop it in neutral and turn the key for the wait to start light. :jump:

I knew a guy who had one on his 01 but it was an automatic. His did wait for the "wait to start light" to go out before firing. Hope that helps. Im pretty sure the diesel specific ones are programmed to do this.

Yeah mine waits for about 45 before it starts to let the grid heater heat up. And as long as the parking brake is set and the truck is in neutral it will start. But if the brake is not set you need to get in the truck push the clutch in and start it. And Mine is set to idle for 25 min with out the key in the ignition. And the turbo timer is set for 2 min

My buddie has one that uses the interior lights as the safety switch, the computer knows that once the door is closed with the truck running -using the turbo timer- that the truck is in neutral, and until the door gets opened the truck is still in neutral.. the remote starter will not work once the interior lights come on because now it knows that it is possible that the tranny is now in gear.. He had to program the delay for the wait to start light.. his was ajustable..:tu: hope this helps , i will try to find out which one he has its like 3 years old:humm:
