cummins270 12-28-2010 10:09 PM

turbo

Well I was lookin at a 62/14 because ive heard the 64 was to big. how much boost does it build?

cummins freak 12-28-2010 10:10 PM

I believe its gated at 48psi

to bo honest youd be happer with a 62MM it would be more driveable and you could send it offto ED later to have it opened up if ya want. I'd buy a 62 if i were you

62 is more street able with the amount of fuel your going to be pushing. i run a 66/14 but i push a shit ton of fuel so im able to run a bigger charger. so 62 or 64 at the most

Im lookin at the industrial inj. silver series 62/14 is this a good choice?

banditsdiesel 12-28-2010 10:56 PM

the bd super b would be perfect for that setup. i used to run that exact setup and it would spool fast run really low egts, and made good power. a 62 would be the biggest i would go unless you are planning on going a lot bigger on injectors and multiple fuel upgrades. 64 and 66mm turbos have been known to "surge" which can make them difficult on the street. smaller wheel= spool faster, a larger turbo will take forever to spool. i had a 66 on the truck with 100hp sticks before i went to 200hp and it was really hard to keep in boost and get spooled up. keep in mind over 45psi of boost you need head studs.

yes, brady really knows what hes doing every thing on my engine is from them, twins, injectors, lines, injection pump, ect.

How much boost did your 62 run?

banditsdiesel 12-28-2010 11:24 PM

never ran a 62... the bd is a modified 57mm. and with wastegate adjustments you can get as much boost out of a turbo as you have fuel and air flow for. i was able to get 52-55 out of it. also used that same turbo in my first twin set and made 70+ psi with it.
bd makes two versions of the super B. the regular super B is a modified 57mm, the super B special is a 62mm, if im not mistaken.

Well how does the industrial and the bd compare iis one any better?
