Can't find spot to Install trans temp sender on 2001 Dodge Ram 6 spd manual!

Hi, I need some help finding a good spot to install a transmission temp sender on a manual 6 spd transmission in my 2001 Cummins Dodge Ram. I've looked every wher and everyone is talking about putting them in automatic transmissions but I don't have an automatic, I have a manual and I have no idea where to put the sender!!! Someone please help!:argh:

when i put mine in my 5 speed i asked around and was told to basically drill and tap one of the pto plates on the side of the trans...

Id like to avoid having to drop and drill the pan...I'd like to just unscrew a bolt somewhere and put the temp probe in...and also, does the 5 speed have the same test ports and everything as the 6 speed?

easiest and cheapest right there..............remove the PTO plate and drell/tap it OR drill a hole in it and weld a bushing or collor on there to screw the probe into

If I take off the pto plate won't the fluid and everything else flow out and make a total mess?

oil pans work pretty good to solve that problem. and u can just poor it back in.

PTO plate, I removed the trans fluid and took the plate off and drilled it. It was quick and easy. Hardest part is putting fluid back in.

Heat affects everything, granted its not as important as an auto but it still is something to be monitored.

How far down on the pto plate should i put the sensor and exactly where is the pto plate located? Don't mean to sound like a newbie or anything but I have never had to work on my transmission I've only looked at it and tried to figure a good place to put it:humm:
