New box coming out for 24vs 98 to 01

I wanted to give you guys a heads up, TST's new box should be out within the next 14 to 21 days. Ive been working with them testing this box on both of my 99s now for well over a year and a half and we've got all the bugs worked out that we could find. We plan on finishing testing by the end of the week including several road tests. Im not authorized to release too many details on the box yet but it basically replaces the older PM3 and uses up to date and even newly found methods to make the box very unique and even more powerful, even more then the current PM3 comp tuned box. As soon as mark gives me a go ahead to describe the features and release the numbers we've seen on the dyno, I will. At this point I will say that power levels that we are consitently seeing are very close to reaching the maximum limits of a vp44. My favorite partt is that the power curves are extremely smooth and the motor runs even smoother, no surging or shuddering. The price has not been confirmed yet but the projected costs are planned to be very close to what the exsisting PM3 runs. Look back on this thread in the next few days as Ill be updating this as I get more solid info.:c:

Very nice.

Sounds like one hell of a box, only thing I wonder is is it going to be full of colorful trinkets or is it going to be a down and dirty (power adder)? They both have their place.

DieselWeasel 11-17-2010 04:27 PM

Is it just a box or is it a display too... Gauges, readout, etc. What is difference between this box and say a Quadzilla ADR?

Im not authorized to give out too much but, having ran the ADR a yr or so ago, the new box we're testing is pulling better numbers and the curve is much smoother and consitent up to roughy 32000 rpms. As with the older pm3, there will be multiple options, my understanding is at least 3 different style controllers, 2 of them have digital readouts, the other has some, well alot of bells and whistles but i can't say what they are just yet, I will as soon as allowed. I will say this, ive got it on one of my 99s now, put over 600 miles on it, ive seen my economy on one of the 9 powerlevels increase significantly, best ive ever seen. So the econ level does very very well.

Oh also, just an fyi, it is 50 state legal, finally got that confirmed yesterday.

Okay so my thought is,
Havent we already pushed the VP-44 to it's limits? There's no more flow.... What is more electronics going to do? The pump isnt capable of producing anymore fuel at any higher RPM. Is this something for the monsters?

Jazz, its a typo, should read 3200 rpms not 320000. But yes, it does tap the pump wire, no way to make the power we are seing without doing so. And yes mystery, the vp44 limits have been found time and again. Ive ran probably 6 different boxes on my truck and all have their pros and cons. The thing that's got me hooked on this new box is the curve of the increased power and the smoothness it does it . Also depending on my test and debrief tomorro, I hope to have a solid release date and be able to provide details and specifics. Ill let u in on this much, im very impressed with the economy. On a particular level, I saw a 3.6 mpg increase, hand calulated, went from 16.2 to 19.8 on my stock 99, my modded 99 showed just a 2.4mpg, went from 15.4 to 17.8, both trucks ran same roads and miles, mix of city and highway driving. Both are personal bests with both trucks haviing a box. Now this was not with the box all the way up by any means, I did not record mpg with the higher settings, at least not yet. :c: :tu:

Didn't know a month was only 6 days long?! :ouch: That means what we have roughly 61 months a year now? The mayans had 20 so why not? But in all seriousness, the goal is to have it out by the first week of december, if all goes well

:jump: woohoo, im likeing what im hearing!

RAW 11-22-2010 09:35 AM

This is sounding good! Love the power of my Comp, but want the features of my EJWA. If this new box combines the power of a Comp, and features of a EJWA, I'll be very, very interested!

01cummins13 11-22-2010 10:01 AM

:jump: yea i was torn between the bells and whistles(cs or cts, turbo timer, gauges, ect.) of the ejwa and the power of a comp, i hope this is a combination! cant wait for the final word on this box. till then we wait haha :c:

Spunkys Ram 11-24-2010 12:18 AM

Be interested to see what's under the table.

May have to sit on Santa's lap this year. :jump:

J-Pipes 11-28-2010 08:58 AM

Did you guys do any tests with stacking this new box, maybe the Smarty, seems pretty common to stack it with other boxes, figure it will be done with this one as well:humm:

JIT 11-28-2010 07:45 PM

These things always take 6 months longer then promised. They think they're gonna build up the frenzy.

Well it worked lol

RAW 12-03-2010 07:59 AM

Well, maybe thats a good thing. The roads suck up here now and more power doesn't help that situation. But I still want to know more.

I hear ya there. during the winter months my fueling boxes always get turned down between rough roads and slick conditions. More power causes more problems.

01cummins13 12-03-2010 10:16 AM

but he can still give us more details haha :jump:

dukeboy_318 12-03-2010 01:31 PM

Okay guys, sorry it took so long to get back to you all. The box is done in testing for 98-00, I'm working on scanning the dyno charts, so that'll be up shortly. The box does both timing and fueling. There are 10 levels, 0 to 9, on the fly adjustable. the box will be offered with fuel digital gauges similar to the pmCRin looks just using a different controler. The order has been placed with the company who is building our ciruit boards, should be out any day now. More infor to come this evening.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Oh yeah btw, if anyone has a stock 01 and would be free to do do some dyno runs next week, please pm me with ur name, phone number and detailed description of ur truck including any mods. We need a truck thas a stock as possible. It can havee bigger exhaust, aftermarket fuel pump and even a cold air kit. Preferably a manual but auto will do. Must live relatively cclose to columbus, in 47203 thanks
