"Caution: Failure to center the drag link inner and outer joint caps over the joint ball studs before tightening the adjuster sleeve clamps could cause joint failure."
Doesn't matter what truck it's on. Could be a home-built dune buggy, using that steering linkage. http://stuff.is-a-geek.net/OnlineDocs/Pending/h46.pdf |
So bottom line is I have a stock 2000 with 16" stock wheels. This kit should work? Would a Dodge dealer know or probably will say it wont do you think
|
Of course it will "work," one way or the other, but any dealer will probably decline to install it, based on policy alone. They just don't do that kind of parts swapping. It's a policy issue based on liability.

I was just meaning in regards to them selling it to me for an install, not them actually installing it. I was just trying to make sure it would fit with stock wheels etc before purchase, thanks

diesel power products told me they did this on one of there trucks a 98 12v an it fit without having to change anything.

I was wondering how this was holding up? Would like to do it to my 1997 2500 4x4. This is the information that I have found online and would like your opinion.
Dodge Factory upgrade DT Fabrications (Looks like the factory setup too, $350) DTP02031-1 HD STEERING LINKAGE Also found the linkage setup for 2010-2011 trucks online at Dodge Parts for $280. Am going to do this soon. My stock stuff is worn and is unstable. My truck is stock, 2500, 1997, 4x4, 16 inch rims. Thanks for all your postings and I hope this information helps others too. |
I've had the upgraded steering on my '07 for almost 2 years/30k miles now and it's doing great, no issues whatsoever.

The dealer couldn't care less what you put it on, so just ask them for the part numbers specified in the first post, and bolt it on! It should fit your stock 2000 4x4 perfectly.:tu: |
as soon as my current moog parts wear out this is going on my truk and my uncles 05 is ready for it now thanks for this thread man.
