Dual Disk clutch
So is a dual disk clutch supposed to sound like crap when you push the clutch in? It kind of sounds like the throwout bearing is going out but a lot of people I've talked to said that it's supposed to sound like that. No, I haven't checked out the throwout bearing yet.

they do have some noise to them

Most everybody I have talked to say they sound like that, and that the one's used by one of the local shops in particular, are said to be very noisy, and when they quite making noise, they need replaced. But, with that being said, the twin disk setup in my truck has never made any noise like others I have head, actually you can only hear the slightest bit of noise when you are listening for it. My clutch is a McLeod, it has been in for about a year, and I have been very happy with it. Hope this helps:tu:

Yeah, that helps a lot, thanks guys

A sidenote on my clutch, I'm note sure if all of the McLeod clutches are as quiet as mine has been, or if the guy that works on my truck has some little trick he does to them, it wouldn't suprise me, he is really good, and very meticulous, to the point that I could see the noise that is commonly associated with dual disks anoying the hell out of him, to the point of him figuring out a way to get rid of the noise!

Dual Disk clutch
Sounding like crap? I'm sure a little bit of noise is acceptable depending on how aggressive the clutch is. What brand and kind of clutch? How old/miles on it? Ceramic or organic or Kevlar? Do you have the upgraded slave cylinder? Maybe describe it just a hair bit more. Sorry I'm all about the details.

rattling noise and dual disk clutches are normal, they are starting to make a few clutches that are quiter, but there is a few tricks you can try like an extra quart of fluid in the tranny, is one that seems to quite them down abit.

I'm wondering how you get an extra quart of oil in a manual trans. Seeing how it has a fill plug like a differential. I'd rather live with a bit of noise than blow my seals out although I have yet to see how adding execs oil quiets a clutch.
