What intake elbow to go with?????
I want a new intake elbow, and have it narrowed down to cfm, banks, or aFe. Banks came out with a 3 1/2 inch but it's a little spendy. What do you guys recomend and why?:humm:
|
I dont know why but on a second gen these dont give much hp return.
A 3 rd Gen Common Rail is a different story. |
That's what I've heard. I guess I'm just goin for heat reduction and better flow. Kinda like to get my hands on a used one.
|
Why dont you get some bang for your buck and throw youre money at some injectors instead? Seems like a waste to buy something that has little benefit. JMO of course.

On the intake side it won't lower the heat much at all. On the exhaust side you can see about 200 F pre-turbo if you've got some sticks in there already. If not, again not much difference.
Personally, if I was to do it all again, I'd invest in a set of twins right away. Sure it's $$ but doing what I've done and still trying to do the build twins myself crap just doesn't work if you don't have time to dedicate to it. Again, that's my opinion. |
Gut the intake tube and just put a NAPA 2790 on it........cheap and good results
throw the OEM air box in the trash:humm: this may not be yer style but it works well for me....on a truck I used to have anyway |
Go with the CFM. The banks elbows are junk just like everything else they make cause the bolts still go through the tube and restrict flow.
|
Out of those I like the CFM. I prefer the ATS Arc Flow.
|
I like the ATS Arc Flow...:U:

I like my CFM. I can't tell you if it made a difference or not, as I installed my 150s at the same time, but I do like the fact that it has 3 ports already tapped, which most of them do. I don't think you can go wrong with either the CFM or the ATS. Styling is why I went with the CFM over the rest.
