turbo injector ??'s

im planin on gettin 200 to 250 horse injectors and was wanderin would an hx40 be a sufficient turbo to run and get decent power and put a lil smoke away??

No, While the 40 was a good charger in it's day. It's not enough for a 200+ injector in a 24v. Also , Shaft damage would be a major concern. You would be spooling the charger hard in the first place, and it's not easy to prevent turbo surge on a VP truck. There are items available to help with surge but you could get you a good charger with the amount you would give for a 40 and blow off valve setup!

I'd say you need at least a 62mm with that big of injectors.

Your going to need more than a HX40 or a 62 to work with 200-250hp injectors. Maybe a Silver 62. Do you tow any with your truck?

CumminsKid6 08-17-2009 10:08 PM

well. i dont tow with it right know alot. a few things here and there but nothin reall heavy. and i thought it would maybe do ok cause my dads truck has 125 injetors with stock turbo. seein about 52 lbs of boost and gets rid of 75 to 80% of the smoke and its still holdin up for now. nock on wood

mysterync 08-17-2009 10:15 PM

I would be knocking on somthing besides wood. No stock charger will hold 52lbs but a few times. If your seeing 52lbs, you need to check some things out. A factory HX series charger will implode very quickly that high. Also, It's actully loosing alot of power there, Your well out of the efficency of the charger!
