I just picked up a set of ddp 200's will be trying them out in aug and then adding a bottom turbo. My ddp's that I currently have run great and were a lot cleaner than what I had. The smoke all depends on the turbo etc. In the heat most larger injectors will haze. But I think in your case I would go with a set of 200's as ddp's have a 30 day guarantee on them too.

I do vary little towing, It is my DD. I have been thinking the Mach 4's but than people are telling me that with the cam & head work its going to be less smoky & the turbo is going to light faster, and that the Mach 5's or even 6's would not be that smoky with the stuff I have:humm:

Im building a new engine to replace my cracked 53 block. Its getting compleatly torn down, hot tanked, magna fluxed, Ballanced & blueprinted, Its also getting a hamilton "HD Big Stick" cam, new push rods, & valve springs, The Pistons & barings are getting coted, & also getting O-Ringed & studded, Along with some head work. Im trying to figure out witch injectors I should get for the new motor. Its getting close to being done so i need to hurry up and decide. Iv heard everything from stay with the 120's that are in my sig to Mach 4's Mach 6's & everything inbetween. So take a look at my sig & what the new engine is getting & give me your thoughts please. This is my daily driver in the smoke hateing southern CA. So please give me your input TIA

It should be done getting ballanced & blueprinted this week & compleat next week. so depending on how long it takes for the powder coating I would be willing to guess it could be in the truck in the next 2 weeks or so. You get the quad box & everything in now that your trany is good? & how is that header working?

I really like the header. On my way out to Phoenix, AZ I jumped on it going up one of the passes to see how high the EGT's would get to. I couldn't hit 1300. I am very pleased with it. |
Glad to hear it man, & I think they are planning another tech day:U:

I'd run a set of mach 5's. I currently run little DDP's in my truck, and they are pretty clean. However, larger DDP's and schieds and what not tend to smoke a lot more than the mach series injectors. Not that they don't produce, just not quite as cleanly. That turbo, is a 63.5x72.5, which means getting the wheels turning will take it a little longer because you have more mass to get spinning. Running a dirty injector will be more evident with it and you will have more smoke off idle and when building boost. Fortunately, the Cam will really help with spool of that turbo though.

Thanks for the info, & another good thing that will help with the smoke is it is a pretty fast spooling turbo, I can get 40+ psi of boost between 1500 & 1700 rpm

That is a pretty quick spooling set up. That would be the ball bearings at work. I honestly haven't spent that much time around ball bearing turbos, so I'm not as familiar with their behavioral characteristics. I'd imagine that once it gets spinning it lights really fast, given that larger wheel. Just takes a little more off the bottom to get it spinning. Which A/R housing do you have on it?
